Rudong Guoqing Temple attractions introduction:
Rudong Guoqing Temple is located in Juegang, Rudong County Southwest China was built in the Tang Dynasty and has a history of more than a thousand years. Today, please follow the reporter’s camera lens to experience the beauty of this thousand-year-old temple. A temple is indispensable for people to burn incense and worship Buddha, and Guoqing Temple is no exception. Every day, there are always many people in the temple doing Buddhist rituals for their ancestors or praying for the Buddha's blessing.
The history of Guoqing Temple is almost the same as that of Rudongjuegang. In the early years of the Tang Dynasty, a sea-protecting embankment separated Chugang from the beach, and Guoqing Temple was built with people's expectations for a peaceful and prosperous age. The Guoqing Temple in Juegang was built during the Zongxian period of the Tang Dynasty. The monk who built it was named Xingman, who was the tenth founder of Guoqing Temple in Tiantai Mountain. Therefore, the Guoqing Temple in Juegang and the Guoqing Temple in Tiantai Mountain have the same name. It turns out that The structural method is also a pattern. When Master Xingman was building the Buddhist temple, he once said that "if the temple is completed, the country will be clear." However, this ancient temple, which has been ups and downs for thousands of years in the long history, does not look like Master Xingman. Hope for peace and quiet.
From the Tang Dynasty to the Song and Yuan Dynasties, Guoqing Temple suffered from wars. Although it was rebuilt many times in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, it was still razed to the ground in the 1960s. The current Guoqing Temple was built in 1991 when it was approved by the Rudong County and Nantong City governments to implement religious policies. It has been 15 years now.
The three Buddhas are enshrined in the Guoqing Hall: Muni the Buddha in the middle, Amitabha Buddha in the Western Paradise World on the right, and Glazed Light Buddha in the Eastern Glazed World on the left. The Medicine Buddha saves lives and heals the wounded, and the Amitabha Buddha guides all living beings, which is different from other temples in which Sakyamuni is flanked by Ananda and Kassapa. The most precious thing in Guoqing Temple is undoubtedly the white jade Thousand-Armed Avalokitesvara enshrined in the Nianfo Hall. This jade Guanyin presented by the State of Myanmar is carved from a single piece of Myanmar jade. It is of exquisite quality, 3.8 meters high and weighs four tons. Jade Guanyin with this shape is also rare in the country. There are many jade Buddhas such as the sleeping Buddha Muni Buddha and the Reclining Buddha. The Thousand-Armed Avalokitesvara Jade Buddha like Guoqing Temple is the only rare one. It can be said that Guoqing Temple is the first in the country.
The ancient temple is also a witness to the friendship between China and Japan. During the Kaicheng period of the Tang Dynasty, the eminent Japanese monk Ennin accompanied the 13th batch of envoys sent to the Tang Dynasty to travel west to seek Dharma and came to Kuogang Guoqing Temple and stayed in the temple for more than half a month. Enjin later wrote a detailed description of the excavation of the Guoqing Temple in the Tang Dynasty. In the treasure house of world tourism culture, Yuan Ren's "A Pilgrimage to the Tang Dynasty", "Records of the Western Regions of the Tang Dynasty" written by Xuanzang of the Tang Dynasty in my country, and "Records of Oriental Sights and Sounds" by Italian traveler Marco Polo are listed as "the world's three major masterpieces". Travel Notes". The publication of "Travel Notes" made "Juegang" and "Guoqing Temple" in Rudong appear in historical classics for the first time, and it also became a good story in Sino-Japanese cultural exchanges.
In recent years, Guoqing Temple has also received many foreign tourists, including some businessmen who came to Nantong to invest and start businesses. In recent years, the incense has been relatively prosperous, with an endless stream of tourists from all over the world, including tourists from the United States, Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan and other countries and regions.
