National Geographic Traveler magazine rated Norway's fjords as the best-preserved tourist destinations in the world. This magazine is one of the most prestigious travel magazines in the world. After investigating five tourist destinations11in the world, the expert group selected the Norwegian fjord as the best tourist destination in the world. The expert group consists of experts in ecology, geography, urban and regional development, tourism introduction and photography, cultural and natural heritage protection, archaeology, sustainable tourism and other fields. Experts choose tourist destinations according to personal experience and six criteria. The selection criteria are: ecological and environmental quality, social and cultural integrity, quality of historical buildings and cultural sites, aesthetic and attractive quality, quality of tourism management and future prospects.
