So far, the economic and social development experimental zone of Dabie Mountain old revolutionary base area in our province * * * involves 4 cities 18 counties (cities, districts). Hubei will achieve the overall goal of "Red Dabie Mountain, Developing Dabie Mountain, Green Dabie Mountain and Rich Dabie Mountain", and build the experimental area into an important revolutionary traditional education base, a red tourism base, a red culture dissemination base and an ecological civilization education demonstration base, a vanguard of economic and social development in the old revolutionary areas, an experimental area for overall urban and rural development and an ecological protection demonstration area in the whole province.

Compared with other areas in Hubei Province, Dabie Mountain has unique advantages: Dabie Mountain is an old revolutionary base area, known as the cradle of the Red Army and the hometown of generals, with 2 million people participating in the revolution and 6.5438+0.000 million people dying; Dabie Mountain has a unique ecology with a forest coverage rate of 40%. In addition, it also has the geographical advantage of connecting the east with the west, and is an important bridge and link connecting Wanjiang city belt, Yangtze River Delta and Wuhan city circle.

The old revolutionary base areas in Dabie Mountain in Hubei Province include Xinzhou District and huangpi district in Wuhan, Guangshui City in Suizhou City, all counties and cities in Huanggang City, Dawu County, Xiaochang County and Anlu City in Xiaogan City. The initial start-up scope of Hubei "Dabie Mountain Revolutionary Old Area Economic and Social Development Experimental Zone" (hereinafter referred to as the experimental zone) mainly focuses on the key poverty alleviation and development counties determined by the state and Hubei Province, including 8 counties and cities in Xiaogan City, including Hong 'an County, Macheng City, yingshan county City, Luotian County, Tuanfeng County, Qichun County, Dawu County and Xiaochang County.

Liu Xuerong, mayor of Huanggang City, said earlier that Huanggang is a famous old revolutionary base area in China, which has made great sacrifices and contributions to the China revolution and the construction of new China. However, at present, Huanggang's economic and social development lags far behind the whole country and the whole province. The establishment of such a pilot area is of great significance to speeding up the development of the old areas.
