Visiting the top ten islands in Zhoushan (Part 3)
? Liuheng is an island town located in the southern waters of Zhoushan Islands, across the sea from Ningbo Xiangshan. With a permanent population of more than 100,000, it is the largest town in Zhoushan and the third largest island in Zhoushan Islands. It belongs to Putuo District, covering an area of ??94 square kilometers. The highest point is Shuangding Mountain, with an altitude of 300 meters. It can be reached through Zhoushan Island Dinghai, Changzhi, Duntou steam ferry or speedboat. It is planned to build a Liuheng-Ningbo cross-sea bridge to connect to the mainland.
? The landform of Liuheng Island is dominated by island hills. Six mountains are arranged horizontally in an east-west direction and are shaped like snakes, hence the name "Liuheng Island".
? As early as the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, humans have been living on the island. Its special geographical location has made it a military fortress several times. In the 16th century, a very prosperous private trade port, Shuangyu Port, existed in the west of the island.
? When Wang Anshi, a famous prime minister of the generation, was the magistrate of Yin County, he went to Liuheng to fight drought and provide disaster relief to relieve the people from danger. Later, he came to Liuheng many times and left an "Inscription on Huifeng Temple", which was later known as To commemorate his achievements, the Wang An Stone Temple (Taiping Temple) was built and remains today.
? The climate is pleasant, the air is fresh, the scenery is beautiful, and natural attractions are scattered throughout the island, with beaches, cliffs, strange rocks, caves, reefs, primitive vegetation and other natural scenery.
? Longtoutiao is located in Tiantian, Liuheng Island. The sand is fine and the beach is as flat as the sea. The blue waves are rippling in front of the beach, and there are ancient trees behind the beach. There are thick ancient trees everywhere, blocking out the sky and the sun. Here It is an ideal place to open a bathing beach and a good place to carry out marine sports activities. After the tide recedes, you can carry out wild entertainment and leisure activities such as collecting beach shells and building sand scenes on the beach. There are towering ancient trees on the edge of the beach. The tree species are Pistacia chinensis and Sapu trees with local characteristics. There are hundreds of them. The largest diameter at breast height is more than 1 meter and up to 20 to 30 meters high. Each tree canopy provides shade. It covers an area of ??dozens of square meters and the trees are all over a hundred years old. This ancient forest is integrated with the ocean and beach, which is rare in China and has high tourism development value.
In the 1980s, when I was working in the supply and marketing system of Zhoushan, as the main cotton producing area in Zhoushan, I had to go to Liuheng Island to conduct research every year during the cotton purchasing season. At night we stayed in a state-run hotel run by the local supply and marketing cooperative in Aotou, and during the day we walked to the cotton processing factory in Shizhutou. The factory director Liu Zhengchu was not tall and was an enthusiastic person. He would accompany us throughout the whole process and sometimes take us by car to the factory. Go to the cotton purchasing station in Taimen. At that time, transportation from Zhoushan Island to Liuheng Island was not very convenient, and the round trip took several days.
? After being transferred out of the supply and marketing system, there are very few opportunities to visit Liuheng Island. I only remember that in 2000, when organizing and planning a collective interview event to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the liberation of Zhoushan - "Island Tour? Ode to a Thousand Islands", I went to Liuheng Island with colleagues Xiao Miao, Xiao Jin and Ms. Lu from Putuo People's Broadcasting Station to conduct interviews along the way. Following the footsteps of historical changes, focusing on the bright new appearance of Thousand Islands, we compose a hymn for the liberation of Zhoushan.
In 2009, I participated in the research activities of Zhoushan City Young and Middle-aged Cadres Training Course. As the subject leader, I had the opportunity to conduct on-site inspections of Liuheng Island Zhejiang Energy Zhoushan Coal and Electricity, Zhoushan COSCO Shipping, Xiaoguo Ju Reclamation projects, seawater desalination projects, leading jumps and other places, and listened to the briefings from relevant personnel of the Liuheng Development and Construction Management Committee. The research team was finally written by Rong Moumou, with members Huang Moumou, Liu Moumou, and Yu Moumou, and formed a research report on "Discussion on Several Issues Concerning Accelerating the Development and Construction of Liuheng", which successfully passed the defense of the Municipal Party School.
? It has been 10 years since I went to Liuheng Island. I really want to set foot on this hot development land again. When the spring season comes into bloom this year, I will go on vacation with a few friends.
