A 500-word essay on a one-day trip to Jinping Lake in Gaohe

My hometown is Pinghu, which is known as "Jinping Lake". My parents said that this nickname came from the fact that an imperial envoy came to Pinghu during the Kangxi period of the Qing Dynasty and saw the rapeseed flowers all over the mountains and plains of Pinghu. After returning to Beijing and describing it to Emperor Kangxi, Emperor Kangxi praised "Jinping Lake". That’s why it’s called “Jinping Lake”.

Since it is Jinping Lake, the rapeseed flowers in my hometown are certainly well-deserved. As soon as spring arrives, rapeseed flowers grow. The flowers are in bud, like shy little girls. After Chunyu gave it a bath, it bloomed with its lovely smile. There are a few crystal dewdrops on the petals of rapeseed flowers. Under the sunlight, they emit colorful dazzling light, like diamonds.

As spring turns to summer, the rapeseed flowers have grown as tall as a human being. In the evening, we played hide-and-seek in the rapeseed field with a few friends. When I was in school, I would ride my bike by the roadside in the morning, and I would always hear the fragrance of flowers. Bees are always working hard in the flowers, and butterflies are having a dance inside.

On the eve of midsummer, the rapeseed flowers are almost mature. I always go to the fields with my grandma and mother to cut and beat rapeseed. I like to beat rapeseed the most. The rapeseeds are like little black pearls jumping around on the oil paper, like naughty children.

When winter comes, everyone is busy planting rapeseed. The green vegetable seedlings are like delicate little babies, very cute.

I love my hometown, and I love the rapeseed flowers in my hometown even more!
