I. Pingyao Ancient City
Pingyao ancient city is located in the middle of Shanxi Province. Founded in Zhou Xuanwang period, it was expanded in the third year of Hongwu in Ming Dynasty (1370). It has a history of more than 2800 years. It still retains the basic features of the county seat in Ming and Qing Dynasties, and is the most complete existing ancient city in the Han area of China.
Pingyao is known as one of the "four best preserved ancient cities", and it is also one of the only two ancient cities in China that have successfully declared the world cultural heritage with the whole ancient city.
In February, 2022, the Top 100 Brand Ranking of National 5A Scenic Spots in June, 2022 was released exclusively by Maidian Research Institute, and Pingyao Ancient City Scenic Spot ranked fourth among the Top 100 brands of 5A scenic spots.
Second, Yungang Grottoes
Yungang Grottoes are located at the southern foot of Wuzhou (Zhou) Mountain, about 16 km west of Datong City, Shanxi Province, and on the north bank of Wuzhou River. The grottoes are excavated along the mountain, extending about 1 km from east to west. There are 45 main caves, 252 caves and niches, and more than 565,438+0,000 stone carvings. It is one of the largest ancient caves in China.
Yungang Grottoes 196 1 was announced by the State Council as the first batch of national key cultural relics protection units, was listed on the World Heritage List by UNESCO in 200 12 and 14, and was rated as the first batch of national 5A-level tourist attractions by the National Tourism Administration on May 8, 2007.
Third, Wutai Mountain.
Wutai Mountain belongs to the northern end of Taihang Mountain System, and stretches for more than 500 miles in Xinzhou City, including Wutai County, Fan Shi, Daixian County, Yuanping City and Dingxiang County. It is located between 38 55'-39 66' north latitude and113 29'-113 39' east longitude, and consists of a series of mountains and peaks. Five of the peaks are as flat as a platform, hence the name Wutai. Because of the cold climate on the mountain, there is still no heat in midsummer, so it is also called Liang Qing.
Wutai Mountain is one of the four famous Buddhist mountains in China. In 2004, Wutai Mountain was rated as one of the top ten famous mountains in China. In June 2009, Wutai Mountain was listed as a world cultural heritage. In 2007, it was rated as a national AAAAA tourist attraction.
