Project background (1) Project background Huxiang culture is profound. Zeng Guofan was an important official in the late Qing Dynasty, a representative of modern Hunan culture, and a legendary historical figure with mixed reputation. In recent years, with the improvement of people's living standards, cultural tourism is heating up day by day. Zeng Guofan's Former Residence-In order to comprehensively promote the economic development and industrial structure upgrading of Zeng Guofan's former residence and keep up with the historical pace of building a well-off society in an all-round way, Shuangfeng County People's Government entrusted the Tourism College of Hunan Normal University to compile the Master Plan of Zeng Guofan's Former Residence Tourist Area in Shuangfeng County, Hunan Province (2002-2020), which passed the expert review in June 2002. It is planned to develop Fuhoutang, Zeng Guofan's former residence, as a key tourism resource in Hunan Province, to explore Huxiang culture represented by Zeng Guofan, and to build a key tourism brand in Hunan. * * * The "Five Districts, One Line and One Base" centered on Fuhoutang Tourist Area has been designed and planned, and 25 tourism construction projects have been planned. The industrial structure of Shuangfeng County and Ye He Town has been optimized by implementing the strategy of rejuvenating the town through tourism. (2) Necessity of project construction ① The need of tourism development: Ye He Town in Shuangfeng County is rich in tourism resources with various types, the most prominent of which are Zeng Guofan's former residence (national cultural relics protection unit) and Jiufengshan Forest Park (national forest park), which have great influence at home and abroad. There are more than 50 tourism resources such as Wanyitang, Shijizhai and Tianziping, which represent traditional houses in central Hunan. Numerous cultural tourism resources and natural tourism resources make Ye He Town in Shuangfeng County have great advantages in developing tourism. At the same time, Fu Houtang, Zeng Guofan's former residence, has been included in the Tourism Resources Development Zone during the Tenth Five-Year Plan period. The provincial government invested 30 million yuan to transform the 3 14 provincial highway (the 320 national highway connecting Zeng Guofan's former residence to 107 national highway), which was completed in June 2004. After the transformation, the accessibility of Ye He Town's external traffic will be greatly improved. Developing tourism on the basis of protecting and utilizing Fushoutang has broad development prospects. (2) The need for the protection of ancient buildings: Zeng Guofan's former residence was built in Xianfeng for seven years (1857) and expanded in Tongzhi for three years (1864). Brick-wood structure, architectural style in central Hunan in the late Qing Dynasty, covers an area of over 40,000 square meters, with a building area of12,000 square meters. It is the best preserved courtyard in Zeng Manor.
