1, Yong 'an Department Store

In the seventh year of the Republic of China (19 18), Yong 'an Department Store on Nanjing Road opened. It was founded by the Guo family (and their brothers), an overseas Chinese living in Australia. It is one of the earliest ethnic department stores in China, located at No.635 Nanjing Road (southwest corner of Zhejiang Road), at the acute angle between Zhejiang Road and Hubei Road (No.627 Nanjing Road) in the 22nd year of the Republic of China (1933). Yong 'an Department Store is a typical representative of eclectic architectural style in the early 20th century. It is one of the first batch of excellent modern protected buildings in Shanghai, and is designated as "Shanghai Cultural Relics Protection Unit". Yong 'an Department Store has a total area of about 32,000 square meters and is divided into five floors. Along the top of Nanjing Road, there is a tower called Yun Qi Pavilion, where the first red flag of Nanjing Road was raised when Shanghai was liberated. In 2004, the building was completely renovated, restoring the historical original appearance of European classical style.

2. Shixian Building

Shixian House started construction in the third year of the Republic of China (19 14) and officially opened in the sixth year of the Republic of China (19 17). Located at the intersection of Nanjing Road and Zhejiang Road, it is the first department store founded by China people on Nanjing Road. The name of Shixian House is taken from the fourth volume of The Doctrine of the Mean, "Honesty first". It was built by Ma Yingbiao, an overseas Chinese in Australia, for two million times, with seven floors in total. Shixian Mansion is connected with the street through arcade-style verandah, and has a roof garden and a tea room, among which the roof garden is the first in Shanghai. In the corner of Shixian Building, there is a three-story tower. The plane of the tower is from bottom to top, from square to square, supported by the main column of the tower. The waistline of the building is prominent, and some areas are decorated with Renaissance style and Baroque.

3. Century Plaza

Century Square is located in the south of Nanjing Road, east of Hubei Road, north of Jiujiang Road and west of Fujian Road, with an area of 8,404 square meters. Shanghai Shimao Plaza was designed by German IOKP design firm in the early stage and revised by East China Architectural Design and Research Institute in the later stage.
