How did the aircraft carrier Kiev come to China?

In 2000, with the approval of the State Council, Tianjin Municipal Government of China purchased the aircraft carrier Kiev from Russia as scrap. The tugboat "Deyi" of Shanghai Salvage Bureau left the Russian Vijayev military port, passed through the Atlantic Ocean, bypassed the Cape of Good Hope, crossed the Straits of Malacca, entered the South China Sea, the East China Sea and the Yellow Sea of China, and entered the Bohai Bay.

On August 29th, 2000, we successfully arrived at Nanjiang Wharf in Tianjin, lasted 102 days, sailed 16850 nautical miles, and stayed in the quiet harbor of the international amusement port forever.
