Tianyi Pavilion
“If you haven’t visited Ningbo without Tianyi Pavilion, you haven’t been to Ningbo.” Tianyi Pavilion, known as the “Southern Book City”, was the library of Fan Qin, the right minister of the Ministry of War in the Ming Dynasty, who collected the Book of Changes. According to the Chinese saying "Heaven creates water", the library is named "Tianyi Pavilion". There are more than 13,000 volumes of books in the pavilion, most of which are Ming Dynasty engravings and manuscripts, many of which are unique in the country. It is also unique in terms of fire prevention, ventilation and moisture-proofing. It is said that Fan Qin repeatedly considered fire prevention issues when building the library. He dug a pool in front of the pavilion. There was an underground ditch under the pool connected to the Moon Lake, so that the water in the pool would be inexhaustible all year round. If there is a fire, you can draw water from the nearest place to rescue it. In the fourth year of Kangxi, Fan Qin's great-grandson Fan Guangwen built a rockery by the pond in front of the pavilion, added small bridges and pavilions, planted bamboos and trees around it, and built a "nine lions and one elephant" with rocks. Small, quite exquisite, with the characteristics of Jiangnan gardens. Later, the seven pavilions of Wenyuan, Wenyuan, Wenjin, Wensu, Wenhui, Wenlan and Wenzong were built in the style of Tianyi Pavilion. , since then Tianyi Pavilion has become famous all over the country. In 1935, the stone steles of previous dynasties originally located in Zunjing Pavilion and other places were moved to the backyard of Tianyi Pavilion and named "Mingzhou Stele Forest". There are more than 80 stone steles in the Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties. Among them, the three "Steles of Overseas Chinese in Japan in the Southern Song Dynasty" are the most precious. They are the earliest cultural relics discovered in Mingzhou Port during the Southern Song Dynasty and the earliest existing ones in China. Overseas Chinese cultural relics.
