Taian is a prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of Shandong Province and the seat of Mount Tai. Located in the central part of Shandong Province, between 116°02′ and 117°59′ east longitude and 35°38′ and 36°28′ north latitude, it is about 176.6 kilometers long from east to west and 93.5 kilometers wide from north to south.
