Tourism in Daojiao Town

The 611 Pavilion was built to commemorate the people who were killed by poisonous smoke when the Japanese invaders massacred the village for the second time on June 11 of the lunar calendar in 1941.

The 611 Pavilion, also known as the "National Memorial Tomb", was unveiled on February 24, 1949. It contains nineteen stone tablets inscribed by the Kuomintang's Guangdong and Dongguan military and political circles at that time, each of which The blocks all have celebrity inscriptions. These inscriptions not only record the tragic history of that time, but also bear in mind the brave and fearless patriotism and national spirit of the broad masses of people who resisted the Japanese aggressors and fought to the end. Hongqiao, according to legend, was also built in the Ming Dynasty together with the "Weihuan Tower". At that time, Zhang Jiayu, Ye Ruri, He Bufan and others led the martyrs to fight against the Qing Dynasty in Daojiao. The Qing soldiers were unable to attack Nicheng. Later, they discovered that there was a secret passage at the Hongqiao entrance when the tide was low, so they carefully arranged it to pass through the Hongqiao entrance when the water dried up. Attacked the mud city of Daojiao, and Daojiao fell into the hands of Qing soldiers. Therefore, it is well-founded that Hongqiao was built in the Ming Dynasty.

But it collapsed as early as the Qing Dynasty. In 1982, the Yongqing Township government allocated funds and mobilized donations from the masses and compatriots from Hong Kong and Macao to rebuild the cement structure and hired domestic calligrapher Mai Huasan to write the word "Hongqiao".

The main bridge is 40.7 meters long, the bridge handrails are 92 centimeters high, and the bridge is 3.6 meters wide. After 2010, the bridge was also repaired at the town and village levels, and the three tall ancient cotton trees beside the bridge were added. Protect it so that it complements the Weihuan Tower and reproduces the style of "looking at the fishing fires at Hongqiao at night, and the Weihuan Tower reflecting the morning light".
