Emei Mountain Travel Guide Detailed Edition Emei Mountain Hiking Route Map

Mount Emei, located in Sichuan Province, is a Buddhist holy land with a long history and cultural charm. There are many literary works about Emei Mountain, especially Emei martial arts, which are often mentioned in martial arts novels. Now Mount Emei still radiates infinite Buddha's light, attracting tourists' attention. The following is a detailed travel guide and hiking time road map of Mount Emei.

Emei Mountain Scenic Area is quite famous, and it is a world-famous boutique tourist attraction. It was rated as AAAAA-level scenic spot. The Bodhisattva Dojo, one of the four great bodhisattvas in Han Buddhism, is here. Since ancient times, incense has flourished here, attracting countless pilgrims and literati to set foot here, forming their own unique sense of cultural belonging.

Traffic guide:

I suggest you take the high-speed train, plane or train to Chengdu, Sichuan, and then start from Chengdu, which takes about three hours by bus, or take the intercity train, which takes about one and a half hours. Convenient transportation.

When traveling to Emei Mountain, everyone must know the distribution map and tour guide map of the scenic spot in advance. As shown in the following figure, the black dotted line on the map is the hiking trail, and the yellow line is expressway.

Emei mountain scenic area is very large. The starting point of the scenic spot, Guobao Temple, is located in the urban area of Emei Mountain. Guobao Temple is also the starting point for sightseeing buses. Tickets for various parking spots in Emei Mountain can be bought here.

Mount Emei has both trails and highways, and the route selection is flexible. You can choose to walk all the way up the mountain, or take a bus to Dong Leiping, the highest point of Panshan Highway, and then walk to Jinding. You can also take a bus to Wuxiangang or Wannian Temple parking lot halfway up the mountain and start climbing.

Whole journey raiders:

All the way to Jinding, it took two days for the best people I have ever seen, and three days for the young people with average physical strength. For middle-aged and elderly people, walking all the way is still not recommended. It is more appropriate to take a bus directly.

The starting point of hiking is Guobao Temple, the first temple in Emei Mountain. Built in the Wanli period of Ming Dynasty, it has a long history. This is a relatively large temple. You can enter the door to worship Buddha, but you need to buy another ticket (note that it is not a ticket for Emei Mountain Scenic Area).

The walking path next to Guobao Temple goes up the mountain, passing through Khufu Temple, Leiyin Temple, Chunyang Temple, Zhongfeng Temple, and then to Yin Qing Pavilion. The journey will take about three hours. There is a scenic gate on the road from Zhongfeng Temple to Yinqing Pavilion, where you can buy tickets for Emei Mountain Scenic Area (there is more than one ticket office in Emei Mountain, and you will buy tickets at another ticket office when you go up the mountain by car).

Yin Qing Pavilion is an important transit station on Mount Emei, and it is also the location of "Shuangqiao Yin Qing", the ten scenic spots in Emei. It is said to be an important transit station because the road to the mountain is divided into two here, and you can choose two completely different roads and mountains. One is the road to Yixiantian, Hongchunping and Xianfeng Temple, and the other is the road to Wannian Temple, Laochangping and Huayanding. Both roads can go up the mountain and meet at Jiulinggang.

If you are in a hurry, it is recommended to choose the road in the direction of Huayanding in Wannian Temple, and the distance will be shorter. If you want to enjoy the scenery along the way and the monkeys in Emei Mountain, it is suggested to take the direction of Xianfeng Temple in Hongchunping. This paper introduces the uphill road in the direction of Xianfeng Temple in Hongchunping.

Soon after the Yin Qing Pavilion came out, it arrived at the famous ecological monkey area in Emei. It is said that it is the largest wild natural monkey area in China at present, and many monkeys can be seen along the way. When passing through here, be sure to take good care of your belongings. Monkeys in Emei Mountain can rob things.

After the monkey area, it takes about 2 hours to get to Hongchunping on the first day, and it takes about 2 hours for Yin Qing Pavilion to get to Hongchunping all the way. Hongchunping is the location of one of the ten scenic spots in Emei, the "Red Toon Rain". If you leave from Guobao Temple in the afternoon, you can consider staying in Hongchunping, because Hongchunping is a 99-way bend that makes people look pale. The picture below shows the room where Hong Chunping lived.

After a night's rest here, I got up early in the morning and continued to set out for the foggy mountainous area. This section of the road passes through the famous 99 bends, which is the most difficult part of hiking up Mount Emei. One turn after another, one slope after another, no end in sight. Climbing here still needs enough physical strength and endurance. Although climbing the mountain is very painful, the scenery along the way is still very good. The vegetation on both sides of the mountain road is dense and lush, which deserves to be called "Emei is the best in the world".

Climb ninety-nine turns to reach Xianfeng Temple, one of the ten scenic spots in Emei, where Jiulao Xianfu is located. There is Jiulao Cavern, the largest cave in Emei Mountain. This is another gathering place for wild monkeys after the ecological monkey area, and it is also a relatively large accommodation point. The road from Hongchunping to Xianfeng Temple is difficult to walk, so it takes more time, about three to four hours, which varies from person to person.

The road behind Xianfeng Temple will be easier, with beautiful scenery and more spectacular peaks in the clouds. After a while, I went back to a small temple called Yuxian Temple, which was also a place to stay, but I felt the environment was a little worse. Yuxian Temple soon reached Jiulinggang, where he joined the road from Huayanding of Wannian Temple to the mountain. There are people here who provide food and drinks for replenishment.

After climbing Jiulinggang, you will meet another famous dangerous road in Emei Mountain-Drilling Tianpo. The mountain road here is very steep, and thousands of steps go straight into the sky, which is daunting, so it is named Drilling Tianpo. Here we need to refuel and rush to the famous Xixiangchi scenic spot. According to legend, this is the best place to enjoy the moon on Mount Emei, and the "Elephant Pond jathyapple", the ten scenic spots in Emei, is here. Xixiangchi Scenic Area is also a great place to stay, and the accommodation conditions are much better. The time from Xianfeng Temple to Xixiangchi Scenic Area is about three hours.

Coming out of Xixiangchi Scenic Area, I started to go to Dong Leiping. Although this section of the road is not too dangerous, but the steps that stretch for several kilometers are endless, so it is named Lianwangpo, which is also one of the famous dangerous slopes on Emei Mountain. After a two-hour journey, we arrived in Dong Leiping.

Dong Leiping is a big platform on Mount Emei, the highest point that cars can reach, and the highest bus stop on the mountain. There are temples, hotels and restaurants. , all kinds of business. At the same time, Jieyin Temple near Dongleiping is still the next stop of Jinding Cableway.

There are two options in Dong Leiping:

1, that is, go straight to Jinding for about three hours, and stay in Jinding the next morning to watch the sunrise;

2. Rest in Ping for one night, then walk for 20 minutes to Jieyin Temple ropeway station the next morning, take the ropeway to Jinding and watch the sunrise in Jinding.

The above two may need to be decided according to the time of arrival in Pingping, but it must be noted that the beds on Jinding are relatively tight and the prices are often very expensive, so this needs to be chosen according to the actual situation of individuals.

Jinding is the highest peak of Mount Emei, with an altitude of 3077 meters. At the top of it is a small plain with an original bronze temple. Under the sunshine, it is dazzling, hence the name Jinding. When you climb the Jinding, people suddenly feel that everything is empty, magnificent and magical.

At first glance, the Chengdu Plain has a panoramic view, and Qian Shan Wanling is undulating. The Minjiang River, Qingyijiang River, Dadu River, Daxue Mountain, Wawu Mountain and Gongyi Mountain are vividly visible, as well as the four wonders of Emei: sunrise, sea of clouds, Buddha light and holy light. So when you come to Mount Emei, Jinding is a must-see spot. These are some photos I took when I watched the sunrise in Jinding.

On the whole, Emei Mountain is still a very good scenic spot. Although the tickets are not cheap, the natural scenery and cultural attractions are worth visiting. Although climbing Mount Emei on foot is physically painful and difficult, it is the best way to experience the beauty of Emei. Many people go up the mountain by car and go to Jinding by cable car. Although they can visit it in one day, they can't fully understand the true beauty of Mount Emei.
