Yunnan Province, referred to as Yun or Dian, is one of the 23 provinces in China, located in the southwest region, with the provincial capital Kunming. It is located between 21°8′~29°15′ north latitude and 97°31′~106°11′ east longitude. It is adjacent to Guizhou and Guangxi in the east, connected to Sichuan in the north, Tibet in the northwest, and Myanmar in the west. It borders Laos and Vietnam in the south.

As of August 2019, Yunnan Province has jurisdiction over 16 prefecture-level administrative regions, including 8 prefecture-level cities, 8 autonomous prefectures, 17 municipal districts, 18 county-level cities, 65 counties, 29 autonomous counties, with a total of 129 county-level divisions. As of the end of 2019, Yunnan Province had a permanent population of 48.583 million, an increase of 288,000 from the end of 2018. It is the province with the most ethnic groups in China.

There are more than 200 scenic spots and scenic spots in the province, and there are 134 national-level A-level or above scenic spots, of which 12 are listed as national-level scenic spots and 53 are listed as Yunnan provincial-level scenic spots.
