New Zealand Island to road trip Raiders+Best Route Guide

New Zealand is located in the Pacific Ocean and is divided into two islands, North and South. Australia has become the main part of Oceania. The natural environment here is well protected. This is because New Zealand has a small population and many natural areas are not polluted by human beings. Here, I will share with you the strategy and the best route guide of go on road trip.

I just got back from New Zealand, the longest journey in my history-43 days. This trip can be divided into two parts. A family of three drove around the island 10 for about 20 thousand, and then dad went back to work to move bricks.

The mother and son stayed in New Zealand and stayed in a homestay. They took part in a four-week study in the third semester of the local school (commonly known as micro-study abroad). My son has experienced the English teaching environment and colorful courses. My mother buys food and cooks in the local supermarket every day, fully experiencing the daily life of the local people, killing two birds with one stone.

This part is about 25 thousand, including tuition, rent, living expenses and weekend travel. Forgive me for mentioning the price first every time I write a post, because sharing super cost-effective travel is my favorite thing to do. As non-local tyrants, we also have the dream of traveling around the world!

Let's take some pictures first. The photos are all taken with mobile phones, because for us, we are not professional photographers and we don't need all kinds of retouching software. Travel is to let us experience the real scenery. In fact, the world we see is more in our hearts and changes our outlook on life.

Look at the RV that has been with us for ten days. We traveled around the North Island in this RV for ten days, where we ate, lived and experienced a different trip.

It seems that my posts are full of numbers. I want to tell you how to save money and realize your travel dream. In fact, we are not the kind of hard-working travel enthusiasts. We go out without self-abuse and FB, and experience cost-effective projects with limited money.

In order to buy cheap air tickets, I often take the train to Hong Kong and Macau (where air tickets are generally much cheaper than those in Wuhan), and this time I also take the train sleeper to Shenzhen and Auckland. When traveling abroad, I often walk about 2 kilometers, just to save transportation expenses (it is very convenient to use Google navigation).

We will not hesitate to use all the money saved to experience various projects, such as watching penguins, hot air balloons, skydiving and helicopter glaciers, because these are relatively few in China.

I'm not telling you with countless beautiful photos and selfies, just looking at other people's travel notes.

Like every trip I have, this trip started with a special air ticket.

On February 29th last year, 65438+, I stumbled upon a promotional coupon for HNA sailing. During the summer vacation, Shenzhen traveled to Auckland, New Zealand, and it cost about 3,000 RMB, so I bought a plane ticket for a family of three at 1000 RMB.

Husband 2645 round trip 10 day, my child and I bought 6200 round trip for 43 days.

New Zealand is in the southern hemisphere, and summer vacation is the off-season in winter, so buying air tickets in advance will have great discounts. When we are ready to leave, the air ticket has risen to more than 8 thousand round trip, so the cheap air ticket determines a cost-effective trip.

Similarly, the RV is also in the off-season. It costs 5000 yuan to rent a car for ten days. RV is a very common way to travel abroad, and you are free to play anywhere. But at night, you usually stay in the RV camp, refuel and add water to the car, and then cook in the public toilets and public kitchens in the camp.

This is the camp where we stayed. Every night, we go to our home for about 300 yuan and 200 yuan to provide charging piles for charging, and then we can take a bath in the public kitchen and bathroom, which is very clean. Many foreigners are more economical than us. They only stay in the camp once every two days.

Do you see that we are all wearing cotton-padded jackets and jackets? At this time, the temperature is about eight to ten degrees, which is so hot in Wuhan, so we found a place to escape the heat. In this July summer in China, we went on a skiing trip, which was the shooting place of The Lord of the Rings in those days, to see if there was any feeling of deja vu.

But in fact, RV travel is not as romantic as you think. It's nothing like staying in a hotel. A lot of things have to be done by yourself. You have to fetch water and drain waste water, make your own bed and quilt, and go to the coin laundry room in the camp to wash clothes.

In order to save money, because the western eating habits are mostly hamburgers, bread and desserts, and because there is a kitchen in the car, most people will cook by themselves. This time, I specially prepared a small rice cooker and brought many condiments from China to comfort China's stomach.

It is particularly interesting that cooking is in the public kitchen of the camp, and it is the most complicated to see people of all countries cooking by themselves. The food in China is the most complicated.

Every time I drive an RV through a town, I will go to the supermarket for a big sweep, so I know the local prices like the back of my hand. Unlike ordinary group tours, you can experience the life of local people to the greatest extent.

Here, you will find that steak is not as expensive as sweet potato. Please consciously multiply the marked price by five (New Zealand 1 NZD is equal to five yuan). Kiwifruit is very cheap, one or two yuan each.

Vegetarian food is very expensive, and then no one eats animal offal, which is horribly cheap. New Zealand dollars can buy a lot of tripe, pig ears, heart and louver. So we eat seafood, steak and lamb chops every day here, because vegetables are too expensive.

RV varies according to the number of people. One is bigger, and this one may be six meters long.

I took this photo at the RV camp. You can see different sizes of RVs. The bigger the RV, the more expensive it is. The last one we rented was actually a modified Toyota Sea Lion. Two people can sleep above and two people can sleep below.

The width is generally about two meters, and domestic C photos can be opened. Driving an RV is not the hardest thing. The difficulty is that New Zealand drivers drive to the right, and it takes some time to get used to it.

Moreover, when renting a car, we usually buy all risks, so the general collision insurance company will pay for it. Foreigners have few cars and drive politely. If they strictly abide by traffic laws, there will be no accidents.

New Zealand is a paradise for extreme sports. Here, you can take part in skydiving, bungee jumping and hot air ballooning. We chose a cost-effective flight. We used to play hot air balloon and skydiving in Australia.

These air activities either do not exist in China or are extremely expensive. There are many flying schools in New Zealand, all of which have the experience of learning to fly a plane. The price is about 700 RMB. In addition to coaches and trainees, you can also take two passengers for free, which is equivalent to air sightseeing and cost-effective.

/kloc-You can only learn to fly a plane when you are over 0/6 years old, so my son can only be an audience. As I wrote in my previous post, he had already participated in skydiving when he was just 12 years old.

Moreover, we hired a coach from China, and we are very satisfied. After coming down, my husband told me that flying a plane is completely different from driving, but it is very enjoyable.

Play while driving.

Anyone who has seen the Hobbit should remember this place.

The first time I saw the Black Beach, it was said that it was rich in iron ore. Forgive me for my limited photography skills. All the pictures were taken with Huawei mobile phones.

Anyway, everyone must think, how can three people stay in New Zealand for more than 40 days with 45,000 yuan per person 15000? As I said before, the air ticket is 1 10,000, the RV rental is 5,000, and then the RV camp and play items are almost 5,000.

In the end, I spent more than 20,000 yuan to study in different classes for the children behind. Primary and secondary schools in New Zealand have four semesters every year, and our summer vacation happens to be their school day. In order to improve children's English level and experience the authentic school education in New Zealand, I applied for placement study around local schools for my children.

My son, another mother and I, with her children and two mothers and children, started our short-term study tour in New Zealand. Let's put some pictures of New Zealand schools first.

The biggest advantage of this kind of learning is that it is completely English environment.

Basically, there are very few students from China, and the school environment is very relaxed, and the courses are rich and colorful, which is much more cost-effective than summer camps or study tours organized by domestic schools or institutions. They are all children from China.

We rented a homestay in the local area, bought food and cooked every day, stayed with our mother for a short time, and took our children to museums and beaches on weekends.

More than 20 thousand yuan includes tuition, 28 days of accommodation, meals, and weekend trips for our mother and son, including flying to the capital Wellington for four days.

This price should be ok. You should know that a one-day study tour in China 12 is about 20,000 yuan, or a two-week summer camp in New Oriental Newspaper, and English may cost more than 20,000 yuan.

Ten days after the RV trip, we returned the RV and checked into a hotel. /c/wtq 1? s=0

This is a B&B booking website with links to all over the world. Interested parties can register and have a look.

We share the garden house with another mother and son and four people. Monthly rent 12000, 6000 yuan is shared equally between the two.

If you calculate carefully, you will find that if you don't study in the future, in fact, a caravan tour in New Zealand 10 day costs only 20,000 for three people, provided that you buy a cheap air ticket and choose to travel in the off-season, but the travel experience is much better than the high temperature in China.

So you can refer to my previous post to see how to grab cheap air tickets and realize your travel dreams to the greatest extent. Don't just be a keyboard man, read more posts from others.

China driver's license can rent a car in New Zealand, and C driver's license can drive an RV. As long as you have a driver's license notarized in China or an interpreter directly in Taobao, you can show it together with your driver's license when renting a car. It's convenient to rent a car. There is a row of car rental counters at the airport. Most of them rent cars when they get off the plane and return them at the airport when they return home.

Public transportation abroad is generally expensive, but renting a car is very cheap. We rented an RV for ten days, and then went back to the city for five days in the last few days. RAV4 is in 700 yuan for five days. You know, in foreign countries, taking a bus for one stop may cost 30 yuan three people 100 yuan, while renting a car for one day only costs 100 yuan.

My English is ok, and I can communicate. But never think that language is the biggest obstacle, and courage is the biggest obstacle.

As mentioned earlier, in New Zealand, a mother and son shared a room with us. We made an appointment at home, but we left New Zealand separately when we arrived in New Zealand because of the different round-trip time of air tickets.

The mother and son have never been abroad. My mother is a full-time mother who can't speak English. A person took his children to New Zealand by plane, went to the customs to go to school, and later returned to China alone with his children.

On the way by car, I also saw many old couples close to the flowers. They only said simple greetings, and went out in an RV, using translation software to ask someone for directions.
