The protection scope of Xiangyang Ancient City is bounded by the south bank of the Han River in the north, the outer coast of the moat in the west and south, East Huancheng Road in the east, and Zhakou Road in the northeast corner. Chapter 2 Planning and Protection Article 10 The Municipal People's Government shall, in accordance with the land space planning, the historical and cultural city protection plan and the Xiangyang City Wall Protection Plan, organize the preparation of the Xiangyang Ancient City protection and utilization plan, the Xiangyang Ancient City regulatory detailed plan, and formulate the Xiangyang Ancient City protection plan and utilization planning phased implementation plan.
Special plans involving tourism, environmental protection, transportation, municipal administration, fire protection, water conservancy, gardens, etc. in Xiangyang Ancient City should be connected with the protection and utilization plan of Xiangyang Ancient City. Article 11 When preparing a plan for the protection and utilization of Xiangyang Ancient City, opinions from all walks of life should be fully listened to, submitted to the Xiangyang Ancient City Protection Expert Advisory Committee for demonstration, and submitted to the Xiangyang Ancient City Protection Expert Advisory Committee for approval in accordance with the law before being announced and implemented.

Construction activities within the protection scope of Xiangyang Ancient City should comply with relevant laws and regulations, comply with the requirements of Xiangyang Ancient City protection and utilization planning, and must not exceed the control indicators determined by the relevant planning, and must not destroy the traditional pattern and historical features of the ancient city. .
Construction activities in certain areas around the protection scope of Xiangyang Ancient City should comply with the protection and utilization plan of Xiangyang Ancient City, and maintain coordination with the overall style of the ancient city in terms of height, volume, color, style, etc. Article 13 If the existing buildings, structures and other facilities within the protection scope of Xiangyang Ancient City do not meet the requirements of the Xiangyang Ancient City protection and utilization plan, they shall be renovated or demolished in accordance with the law upon departmental identification, expert review and the decision of the Municipal People's Government.
Article 14 The protection objects of Xiangyang Ancient City mainly include:
(1) The traditional pattern, overall historical style, spatial scale and city wall and river system of Xiangyang Ancient City, as well as the natural landscape and ecological environment that are interdependent with Xiangyang Ancient City ;
(2) Xiangyang North Street, Green Shadow Wall Alley and other historical areas;
(3) Xiangyang City Wall, Xiangyang Palace Green Shadow Wall, Xiangyang Xuegong Dacheng Hall, Xiangyang Qiao Tower, Cultural relics protection units such as Xiangfan Wharf and immovable cultural relics that have not yet been approved and announced as cultural relics protection units; (4) Zhaoming Terrace, Shan's former residence and other historical buildings and industrial heritage buildings with protective value, protective Architecture;
(5) Traditional dwellings, ancient inscriptions, ancient wells, ancient and valuable trees, and other sites and monuments with historical and cultural value;
