China Unicom is a state-owned enterprise. China United Network Communications Group Co., Ltd. is China's only telecom operator listed in New York, Hong Kong and Shanghai at the same time. It was formed on January 6, 2009 on the basis of the merger of the original China Netcom and the original China Unicom. China Unicom is one of the world's top 500 companies. It has a communications network covering the whole country and reaching the world. It has branches in 31 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) in China and many overseas countries and regions. It mainly operates GSM and WCDMA standard mobile network services. Fixed communication business, domestic and international communication facility service business, satellite international dedicated line business, data communication business, network access business and various telecommunications value-added services.
