China Unicom is a state-owned enterprise. China United Network Communications Group Co., Ltd. is China's only telecom operator listed in New York, Hong Kong and Shanghai at the same time. It was formed on January 6, 2009 on the basis of the merger of the original China Netcom and the original China Unicom. China Unicom is one of the world's top 500 companies.
