Changyi District was named after Changyi Tun within the territory. In the ninth year of Qianlong's reign (1744), hungry people from Lijiagao, Xiyingzhuang and Xujiaguanzhuang in Changyi County, Shandong Province fled famine and settled five miles east of Jilin City (in today's Weichang Street), thus forming settlements, named according to their place of origin. Changyi Tun, Changyi Tun is under the jurisdiction of Yongji Prefecture, Fengtian Prefecture. In the twelfth year of Qianlong (1747), Yongji Prefecture was changed to Jilin Hall, and Changyi Tun was affiliated to Jilin Hall.
