History of Baguio City
According to legend, in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties, the naval forces commanded by Lin Daogan were expelled to Luzon Island by Qing soldiers and met with resistance from the Spanish army. At first, the morale was high, and the Spanish army retreated to Manila. Because of the river barrier, it began to attack for a long time and lacked ammunition. After the arrival of Spanish reinforcements, it launched a large-scale counterattack and began to retreat. The Spanish army pursued it and began to retreat to the Baguio forest belt, scattered in all corners, intermarried with indigenous people and assimilated. Today, many cultural relics unearthed in Gaoshan Province, such as pottery and handicrafts, retain the Ming Dynasty art in China and ancient folk superstitions and customs in China. After a hundred years' changes, Baguio has become a famous summer resort from sheep farm. Times have changed, Baguio will surely move towards a more brilliant tomorrow.
