Boao Watertown is located in Boao Town, qionghai city, Hainan, China, near the South China Sea. It is the mouth of the famous Wanquan River. Hainan Boao Watertown Tourism Co., Ltd. is a tourism enterprise under Hainan Boao Investment Holding Co., Ltd., which is responsible for the operation and management of the scenic spot where Boao Forum for Asia was established.

Boao Shuicheng area integrates rivers, lakes, seas, foothills and islands, with coconut groves, beaches, strange rocks, hot springs and idyllic scenery. Dai Yu Beach in the east is a narrow sandbar, which separates the river from the sea. On one side is the vast South China Sea, and on the other side is the mirror-calm Wanquan River. In the embrace of mountains, beaches and villages, there is a well-preserved Shamei Inland Sea and a water surface; Wanquan River, Jiuqu River and Longgun River meet, and Dongyu Island, Shapo Island and Yuanyang Island face each other.

Boao Watertown was listed as a key tourism project by the Hainan provincial government because of its unique natural resources, careful planning and high-level development and construction, and was selected as one of the "43 National Key Tourism Projects" by the National Tourism Administration in July. 1998.

Boao is located in qionghai city, Hainan Province, the southeast coast of Hainan Island, and the economic center of the Asia-Pacific region at the junction of East Asia and Southeast Asia. It is the permanent meeting place of Boao Forum for Asia, an international conference organization.

Boao Watertown Special Planning Area covers an area of 4 1.8 square kilometers, which is a special planning for Boao Forum for Asia. Boao is a tropical monsoon with a humid maritime climate, with an annual average temperature of 24 degrees Celsius, an annual average rainfall of 2072mm, an annual average sunshine of 2 155h and an annual average radiation of 1 18.99 kcal per square meter. There is no frost and snow all year round, with lush trees, green mountains and green waters and pleasant climate.

Boao is rich in tourism resources, almost perfect in natural ecological protection, rich in hot springs, titanium ore and other resources, and vast in waters. Wanquan River, Jiuqu River and Longgun River meet here and flow into the South China Sea.
