Shiban Street in the old city is one kilometer long and five meters wide, east to the west bank of Laosui River and west to the southern end of Guandi Temple Lane. This street is paved with bluestone and smooth as a mirror. Its architecture is simple and elegant, showing Ming and Qing styles, and it is now a key cultural relic protection unit. Suixi City, commonly known as Kouzi, was called the mouth of Suixi in the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, and became the mouth of Suixi in the Jin and Yuan Dynasties, so it was called the mouth of Suixi. In the Ming Dynasty, local wealthy businessmen gathered here. In order to prevent bandits and chaos, Suixi people dug trenches and erected fences around residential areas, and Suixi City began to take shape. Shiban Street was resurfaced with cyan tiles advocated by Junzhe Zhou, a gentleman in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China.

The project is huge, involving more than 1000 migrant workers, hundreds of ox carts and tens of thousands of stones. It has been paved for several months, completely changing the dirty environment of "dusty in sunny days and muddy in rainy days". During the Anti-Japanese War, Shiban Street was burned by Japanese invaders, and the Huaihai Campaign was bombed by Kuomintang planes. After liberation, the people's government allocated funds for many times to repair Shiban Street and restore it to its original appearance. However, after ten years of civil strife, many temples, attics and archways were destroyed and historical relics were looted. Since then, Shiban Street has lost its former prosperity.

In addition, in the late 1970s, party and government organs, school organizations and industrial and commercial enterprises moved to new towns, and Shiban Street became increasingly depressed. In the mid-1990s, the people's government protected and developed Shiban Street in the old city.
