Ladies and gentlemen, now we come to one of the great miracle projects in the world - the Great Wall. It is large-scale and the project is arduous. In fact, to be precise, there is more than one Great Wall. More than two thousand years ago, various dynasties built many Great Walls in northern China. The Great Wall in front of us now is the most completely preserved Great Wall of the Ming Dynasty.
The Great Wall used to be a defensive project, mainly composed of three parts: Guanyi City Wall and Beacon Tower. Guanyi is an important garrison station along the Great Wall. The city wall is the main project of the Great Wall. It is particularly strong and made of huge bricks, stone strips and other materials. The top of the city wall is paved with square bricks, which is very smooth, like a very wide road, and five or six horses can run parallel. The place where we stand now is the city gate, the passageway for entry and exit in peacetime, and the exit for counterattacking the enemy in wartime. You can see that along the outer edge of the city wall there are rows of stacks more than two meters high. There is a small opening on the top of the stack, which is called the lookout mouth; and there is a small hole in the bottom of the stack, called the shooting eye. As for the beacon tower, it is a building that uses beacon fire and smoke to convey military information, and is a fortress for stationing troops. When fighting, the cities and towers can echo each other. Usually set on the top of the mountain where it is easiest to see, it is usually built of earth or stone. Please raise your eyes and look forward. The Great Wall goes over mountains and ridges, winding between mountains. It is the largest building that consumes the most manpower, takes the longest time, has the most materials, and is the largest in human history. This makes the Great Wall one of the greatest historical artifacts.
I will introduce it here first, please take a stroll and enjoy it. Essay on Visiting the Great Wall 2
During the summer vacation, I went to Beijing and visited the historic Great Wall.
The Great Wall is built on the rolling Bazaida Ridge, like a long dragon. The wall of the Great Wall is very thick, very high, and its length is indescribable, more than 50,000 kilometers. That's why it is called the Great Wall. If the masonry and earthwork used to build the Great Wall were used to build a large wall one meter thick and five meters high, the wall would be able to circle the earth more than once.
The Great Wall we see today was mainly built during the Ming Dynasty. I think about it, I really don’t know how the ancient working people completed this huge construction project without advanced tools. It’s a miracle that you can actually see it from a spaceship! By the time we climbed to the top of Badaling, we were sweating profusely and panting. But when I saw the seven characters "He is not a hero unless he reaches the Great Wall", I was so excited: "I have climbed the Great Wall!" I stood on the top of Badaling and looked around. The Great Wall looked like a giant dragon. Hovering on the rolling Yunling Mountains, tourists are bustling up and down. There are white-skinned people, dark-skinned people, and yellow-skinned people. People are vying to take photos. Looking further down, it looks like a giant dragon is squirming. The foot of the Great Wall is covered with flowers, plants and trees. Birds are flying around in the forest, and butterflies are flying among the flowers. From time to time, they compete with tourists for the camera... It is so fascinating to me. This scene reminds me of: "If you want to see a thousand miles away, go to a higher level."
The majestic Great Wall, this ancient building used to defend against the invasion of foreign invaders in ancient times, has now become a tourist destination for Chinese and foreign tourists. It embodies the sweat and wisdom of the Chinese working people! It shows its majestic style and the hard-working, brave and unyielding spirit of the Chinese dragon to the world! Essay on Visiting the Great Wall 3
There is a scenic spot in Beijing that is famous both at home and abroad. This is the cultural heritage that has attracted the most attention from ancient times to the present - the Great Wall.
This summer, our family of three went to Beijing. The place that impressed me the most was the Great Wall.
The Great Wall is like a giant dragon descending from the sky. It rises and falls with the mountains among the high mountains. Sometimes it falls into the abyss, and sometimes it rises into the sky. "The stars are three thousand feet above, and the clouds are sixteen states below." Yes, the Great Wall is the embodiment of strength and the pride of China.
At the foot of the Great Wall, I looked up and saw that the Great Wall is so high! It is like a giant standing tall between heaven and earth, towering over the clouds, with no top visible. Seeing such a scene, I couldn't wait to go up. The tour guide bought the tickets, and under his leadership, we started climbing the Great Wall. As soon as I got to the Great Wall, I was stunned, wow! So many people! There were even many foreigners. Only then did I experience what it means to be so crowded. It seemed like everyone was touching each other. Some of these people were taking pictures, some were admiring the scenery, and some were working hard to climb the Great Wall... …
The Great Wall is about 7 meters wide. The ground is made of blue bricks and stones, which are very smooth. There are crenels on the wall, which are like eyes. Each eye looks like Observing every move of the enemy.
As we walked, the tour guide introduced us. The tour guide said: "The history of building the Great Wall can be traced back to 221 BC. Qin Shihuang unified the six countries and ordered the construction of the Great Wall. It has a history of more than 2,000 years..."
We want to continue I climbed up, but the good times didn't last long. I had to go back, so I had no choice but to go down, but I was completely unwilling. Climbing the Great Wall this time, I felt the wisdom and crystallization of the ancient working people.
