Nanjing natives, I will go to Koh Samui for an eight or nine-day vacation during the Spring Festival. I will depart 2 or 3 days before the Spring Festival. From where to take off and which airline is the most cost-effective? Consider low-cost airlines.

I don’t know what the price you are looking at is. AirAsia only flies from Hangzhou and Shanghai to Bangkok near Nanjing. The one-way price including tax is about RMB 2,200. However, both cities require a transfer in Kuala Lumpur. Further afield, Wuhan, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Chongqing and Xi'an all have direct flights to Bangkok.

However, prices during the Spring Festival in 2014 basically remained high, including on low-cost airlines.

The direct flight to Koh Samui seems to be chartered by Manchester Air, so the price is basically very high.

You can consider AirAsia departing from Bangkok and purchasing AirAsia’s direct island service from Bangkok to Koh Samui, which is a full ticket including plane, car and ferry.

If I were to consider it, I would probably choose AirAsia to fly from Wuhan to Bangkok. First of all, the time is more suitable: fly at 6 pm and arrive in Bangkok at 9 pm

Currently, the normal fare is about Around 2000, there may be year-end promotions in July-August.

Then, choose AirAsia’s direct island service from Bangkok to Samui. The round-trip price from Bangkok to Samui is about 700 yuan.
