Why do so many people travel recently?
As the temperature gradually rises, it is the best time of year for spring outings. On February 28, a piece of news that “many places in the north are heating up rapidly” was posted on Weibo’s hot search. According to the Central Meteorological Observatory, from February 27 to March 8, the average temperature in most parts of northern my country was higher than the same period last year. Obviously on the high side. With the warmth of spring and the blooming of flowers, tourists' enthusiasm for traveling has been stimulated again. Data from some travel platforms show that compared with the Spring Festival holiday, the number of tourists has recently decreased, and the average price paid for air tickets in February and March dropped by 30% compared to January. Many scenic spots have become the first choice destinations for tourists in spring. It is expected that with the arrival of spring, off-peak travel and the flower-viewing season, the tourism market will once again usher in a travel boom.
Domestic long-term travel orders account for more than half
The cold winter is gradually going away, and people take off their heavy coats and prepare to embark on a journey in search of spring.
"Recently, I have been crazy about the photos of wintersweet on Xiaohongshu, so I am also moved. I plan to go out with my friends on the weekend to enjoy the flowers and experience the recovery of nature." Shen Xu, who loves traveling, said .
The traditional off-season for the tourism market in previous years is particularly different this year. Ctrip data shows that so far, the number of orders for domestic independent travel products booked on the platform from February to March has increased by 446% year-on-year, and the number of group tour bookings has increased by 188% year-on-year; in the past two weeks, the number of orders for group tours and independent travel has reached The peak booking period during this year’s Spring Festival holiday and the week before the Spring Festival exceeded 80%.

The best time to travel during off-peak hours
Flight prices are gradually falling, which also allows tourists to see the best time to travel during off-peak hours. Shen Jiani, a senior researcher at Ctrip Research Institute, believes that this year’s spring tourism market may bid farewell to the traditional off-season and become a new starting point for the recovery of tourism throughout the year. First of all, people's enthusiasm for travel has been accumulated for a long time, and with the Spring Festival holiday as a turning point, it will continue to show a trend of release; secondly, because the price of travel products after the holiday is generally lower than during the holiday, many people choose to travel during this preferential window period ; Finally, for some popular flower viewing, ice and snow destinations, February to March is in the "appreciation period", and traveling at this time can still provide a quite comfortable travel experience.
It is expected that the wave of flower viewing will continue until May
"The spring breeze is coming, and butterflies suddenly fill the grass." The spring breeze blows, and many scenic spots are also covered with flowers. "New decoration" and opening of "spring" mode have significantly released tourists' demand for spring outings.
“Spring is about going outing and visiting parks. Seeing budding flowers and green lawns will refresh people. Green is a color full of vitality, and we will regain our vitality. Three years of epidemic , we have not really experienced the beauty of spring, and now we have planned to go out to the suburbs on weekends to feel the nature and breathe the fresh air that has not been seen for a long time," Wang Meng, who lives in Beijing, said with emotion.
Tuniu stated that the search volume and booking volume for spring outing-related products continued to grow. In terms of scenic spots, Lugu Lake, Wuzhizhou Island, Jiuzhaigou Valley, Gulangyu Island, Lijiang River and other scenic spots ranked high in search popularity. In addition, the weather in popular tourist cities in Yunnan is mild, and rapeseed flowers in Luoping and peach blossoms in southeastern Yunnan have gradually entered their flowering period. It is expected that with the arrival of off-peak travel and flower-viewing season, the domestic tourism market will once again set off a travel boom.
Wu Liyun, associate professor at the Chinese Culture and Tourism Industry Research Institute of Beijing International Studies University, said that there is no doubt that every spring is the peak time for flower-viewing outings. In terms of time, March and April are the peak months for flower viewing tours, and there are actually some flowers that can be viewed in May, so tourism companies can focus on launching some related products from March to May.
“Each tourism service company can take flower appreciation as the main theme and launch themed flower appreciation tours around the flowers with local characteristics. At the same time, in addition to flower appreciation, they can superimpose tourism resources from various places and add Cultural and folklore experiences will be more attractive than a simple flower viewing tour," Wu Liyun believes.
