Introduction of Xunlongshan Scenic Area

The scenic spot now consists of Wolong Cave, Long Yin Town, Sha Ting Tomb, Longlinpo Stone Forest, Julong Square, Wucaichi Medicinal Bath Hot Spring, Wolongju Space Bath and Wolongju Hot Spring Villa. Longlinpo Shilin

Longlinpo Stone Forest is a typical semi-depressed gravel stone forest with karst landform. The stone forest covers an area of nearly 2 square kilometers and is 590-660 meters above sea level. Stone buds and gullies are the main forms of stone forest. The height of the stone forest is generally 2-4 meters, and the highest can reach 10 meter. Wolongdong

Wolong Cave is the first conglomerate cave in Asia, which is rare in the world. It was formed in the late Triassic Carney period and has a history of more than 200 million years. organic reef

Among the national geoparks approved by the state in February 2006, Sponge Reef Paleontological Site in Anxian County is the only national geopark with conglomerate karst in China. There are only two such geoparks in the world, and the other is in the Alps in Europe. Mian Reef in Jishui Town, Anxian County is distributed along Longmen Mountain, with a length of about 25 kilometers and a width of about 7 kilometers. Xunlongshan Scenic Area is at the gateway of Anxian Reef National Geopark. Longmen Mountain is located at the junction of Chengdu Plain and Aba Plateau. In the process of crustal uplift and seawater leakage in Sichuan Basin, numerous volcanoes erupted, forming ancient sponge reef fossils. Sponge reef is a kind of conglomerate karst limestone, which is unique in that any rock as big as a building is full of particles as big as fish eggs on its cross section. This is an ancient sponge creature calcified in the late Triassic more than 200 million years ago, which is also called "fish pebble" by locals. Among these particles are shell fossils as big as jiaozi, fish vertebrae fossils more than ten meters long and beautiful sea snake fossils curled together ... 1979, Professor Wu Xichun and Professor Tan Guangbi of Chengdu Institute of Geology led students to discover such fossils in Longmen Mountain. Their papers caused a great sensation at home and abroad. For more than ten years, these precious geological treasures have been mined as lime mines and are turning into cement at a rate of nearly one million tons per year. In June+February, 2000, Anxian closed all mining sites in the fossil area, and in February+0+65438+February, 2006, the state approved the establishment of a national geological park here. Now, people can see the elegant demeanour of ancient sponge reef in the closed section of ore and rock. The discovery of sponge reef in Anxian fills the gap in the evolution of sponge animals' geological history, and also solves the mystery of ancient Mediterranean changes and the origin of Jurassic sponge in Europe, which has inestimable scientific research value in many fields such as world biology and petroleum geology.
