In the broad sense, Xindeng refers to the area under the jurisdiction of the original Xindeng County, including Wanshi, Dongqiao, Xukou, Yongchang, Xindeng, and Luzhu. In the narrow sense, it refers to Xindeng Town. Xindeng Town is located in the southwest of Hangzhou City, bordering Tonglu and Lin'an. It is the economic, cultural and commercial center in the west of Fuyang District, Hangzhou City. The 320 National Highway Hangxin Highway and the 05 Provincial Highway Hangchun Highway intersect in the town. It is in the "Three Rivers and One River" Lake" golden tourism online. It is 20 kilometers north to Fuyang City and 88 kilometers away from Qiandao Lake, with convenient transportation. The urban built-up area has complete functions, including power supply, water supply, communications, schools, medical care, finance, entertainment, hotels and other facilities. Since 1995, Xindeng Town has been listed as a national pilot town for comprehensive reform of small towns, a pilot town for the United Nations Development Program's "Sustainable Development of Small Towns in China", a central town in Zhejiang Province and Hangzhou, a sanitary town in Zhejiang Province and a pilot town in Zhejiang Province. The "East China Sea Cultural Pearl Project" became one of the 27 small city cultivation pilot towns in Zhejiang together with Guali Town in Hangzhou City at the end of 2010. In 2014, Xindeng Town was shortlisted as a national key town.
