3. Du Shi Scenic Area (AAAA Scenic Area)
Dushi Scenic Area, located in the southwest of Fangshan District, is the only large-scale karst landform in northern China. Dushi Scenic Area is China National AAAA Scenic Area and China National Geopark. On September 17, 2006, UNESCO officially approved the award of Fangshan World Geopark in China. The successful application has added a scientific and technological world geopark with natural scenery as the main body to Beijing, making Beijing the first capital city with a "world geopark" in the world. Fangshan World Geopark has eight parks, of which Du Shi is the core park. Dushi Scenic Area is a valley formed by Juma River, a tributary of Daqing River, cutting the northern end of Taihang Mountain, with a total length of about 20 kilometers. Because there are ten ferries crossing the Juma River here in history, it is named "Du Shi". Now that the highway has been built into a valley, these ten ferries have long been changed into flood control bridges, and there are no real ferries, but the name Du Shi has been used to this day.
