What is Western music?

Western music has developed very rapidly from the promotion of the church to the fashionable entertainment of the palace and government. Western music has gone through eight stages. The earlier ancient Greek music and medieval music will not be mentioned. Starting from Renaissance music, it went through the Baroque period, the Viennese Classical period, the Romantic period, the national music period, and the 20th century music period in just over three hundred years. Part of it was the role of government, but the greatest contribution was the musical tradition of the Christian church. By 1840, Western music had entered the romantic period.
