2. Thousand Buddha Cliffs

Thousand Cliffs, called Shiguige in ancient times, is one of the famous caves in China. Thousand Cliff Stone Carvings began in the Southern and Northern Dynasties and ended in the late Qing Dynasty. It is called the Historical Stone Carving Exhibition Hall. Thousand Buddha Cliffs are large in scale and concentrated in statues. Unfortunately 1935 When the Sichuan-Shaanxi Highway was built, most of the statues were blown up. The statue of Thousand Cliffs is centered on Dayungu Cave, and there are famous shrines and caves in the north and south sections, such as Giant Buddha Cave, Munige Cave, Sleeping Buddha Cave, Sanfo Temple and Maitreya Temple. There are works from Southern and Northern Dynasties to Sui and Tang Dynasties, Song Dynasty, Ming Dynasty and Qing Dynasty. Among them, there are many works in the Tang Dynasty, with beautiful shapes and many fine products, which can be compared with Yungang and Dunhuang.

Yundong is in the center of the Thousand Buddha Cliff and Maitreya is in the center of the cave. Behind the statue is a conical stone wall with many bodhisattvas carved on both sides, which is magnificent.

3. Huangze Temple

Huangze Temple, formerly known as Jinta Temple, is also known as the main temple in Sichuan. It is said that it was built in memory of Li Bing, the prefect of Shu County. Wu Zetian was born in Guangyuan in the Tang Dynasty, so she changed her name to Huang Zean. The existing Huangze Temple is a building of A Qing Dynasty, which is built on the mountain, simple and elegant, including Zetian Temple, Xiaonanhai and Five Buddha Pavilion. There is a stone statue of Wu Zetian in the Temple of Heaven, which looks like a bhikshuni and is solemn. There is a stone tablet in the hall, the front of which is engraved with "Wujia New Temple after Huangze Temple of Dudufu in Dashuli", which is an important material to prove that Wu Zetian was born in Guangyuan. The cliff stone carving of Huangze Temple, carved on the rock wall of Linjiang, has 1203 statues of the Southern and Northern Dynasties, Sui and Tang Dynasties and Song Dynasties, among which the Twelve Events of Silkworm and Mulberry are the most famous. There are also a large number of celebrity temples, including classics inscribed by Yan Zhenqing, couplets inscribed by Guo Moruo, and inscriptions inscribed by Soong Ching Ling. 4. Jianmenguan

Zhao Hua, formerly known as Mengjia Ancient Shu Road, Jinniu Road passes through the city, where Jialing River and Bailong River meet. It has been called amphibious wharf since ancient times. Because it is located in the throat of Sichuan, it is a strategic place in northern Sichuan, a famous ancient battlefield, and a battleground for military strategists in past dynasties. The ancient city of Zhao Hua was built in the Spring and Autumn Period, rebuilt in the Song Dynasty and renamed Zhao Hua. The Gu Men of Yingfeng, Denglong and Gong Ji in the ancient city, as well as the streets paved with bluestone slabs and a large number of ancient houses in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, are still well preserved. There are many ruins of the Three Kingdoms in this city, including the tomb of General Shu Han, the military expenses of the west gate in the north of the city, and the tomb of his wife Bao Sanniang. The Cliff Statue of Huangze Temple began in the late Northern Wei Dynasty, and experienced continuous carving in the Northern Zhou Dynasty, Sui Dynasty, Early Tang Dynasty and Prosperous Tang Dynasty, and gradually declined in the middle Tang Dynasty. The existing Huangze Temple, rebuilt in the Qing Dynasty, is simple and elegant. The highest place is the Great Buddha Pagoda, the lowest place is Zetian Hall, and there are buildings such as Wangjiang Pavilion and Wufo Pavilion.

The cliff statue of Huangze Temple is carved on the cliff by the river behind the temple. Most of them are concentrated in the Giant Buddha Tower, except some of them are distributed in the Heart Sutra Cave and the Five Buddha Pavilion. The Giant Buddha Building, also known as the Giant Buddha Grottoes, originally had no buildings. It's a cave on the cliff behind the Temple of Heaven. The building was built in Daoguang period of Qing Dynasty, but it collapsed after years of disrepair. The building we see now was built in the 1980s. Li Banli, a famous calligrapher, wrote the word "Giant Pagoda" upstairs, so it is usually called the Giant Pagoda.

8. Central column hole

The cliff statue of Huangze Temple is located in the central pillar hole (Cave 45) on the left side of the Giant Buddha Building above Zetian Temple. It is the earliest statue of Huang Zean and the only central pillar cave in Sichuan.

Next to the central cave is the largest Buddhist shrine in Huangze Temple. This cave was originally opened by the fourth son of Emperor Wendi of the Sui Dynasty (Yang Xiu, King of Shu), but it was completed in the early Tang Dynasty.

In Huang Zean's cave, there are inscriptions on scriptures from 0755 to 79000 written by Yan Zhenqing, a famous calligrapher in the Tang Dynasty. In the early years of Tang Daizong, Yan Zhenqing was the secretariat of Lizhou. He wrote a scroll of Heart Sutra, which was engraved here, so it is commonly known as Heart Sutra Cave.

9. Cui Yun Gallery

Cuiyun Gallery is a section of the ancient Shu Road and Jianmen Shu Road, which is famous for its endless dangers. Cui Yun Gallery was called Jianzhou Bailu in ancient times, and it was also called Huangbai or Zhangzhong in folk. Cui Yun Gallery was named after the poems of Qiao Bo, a native of Jianzhou in the early Qing Dynasty. In fact, before this, this road had a gorgeous name, called Huangbai Street. There are Yuanyang cypress, Adou cypress, Couple cypress, Zhangfei Temple, Bi Li Temple and many other scenic spots.

In the cypress forest, there is a well called Zhang. According to legend, Zhang Fei, the general of Shu Han, was ordered to the Northern Expedition. The soldiers were hungry and uncomfortable, and the horses were foaming at the mouth. Zhang Fei got excited and raised his fist and drank fiercely: I'm dying of thirst, too. When the fist landed, I saw a clear spring spewing out from the fist print to relieve hunger and thirst. Dig the back pit into a deep well for local villagers to drink. In order to thank Zhang Fei, people call this well Zhang Feijing.

On the ridge of Langshan Mountain in Cui Yun, there is a ancestral hall of Li Bi, an official and scholar of Ming Dynasty, and there is a statue of Li Bi in the temple.
