Ten Scenic Spots of Yunhu Lake (Hengshan Reservoir)

It is located in the Taihua Mountain District in the southwest of Yixing City, Jiangsu Province, on the upper reaches of the Wuxi River system, close to Shanjuan Cave, a famous tourist spot in Yixing at home and abroad. They are 10 kilometers apart, Taiji Cave is 15 kilometers away, Linggu Cave and Zhanggong Cave are 25 kilometers apart, and Yixing City is 30 kilometers away. It is a Feng Shui treasure land for tourism, sightseeing and leisure.

Sunset at Yunhu Lake "Sunset at Hengshan Mountain" was rated as one of the top ten scenic spots in Yixing City. Hengshan Reservoir has three wonders: dam, green water and green mountains. The sunset is even more amazing. The three wonders are suitable for viewing in spring, summer, autumn and winter, and are interesting in both cloudy and rainy seasons. However, when it comes to the most wonderful time, it is when the setting sun shines like gold. The pure majesty and brilliant splendor blend together and complement each other, creating a soul-stirring Hengshan sunset. The best place to watch the sunset on Hengshan Mountain is to stand at the eastern foothills of the reservoir. Facing the sunset with the water below, you can see that the sunset has restrained its dazzling light and gradually turned soft like the moon, then turned yellow and crimson; I gained weight again, doubled, doubled, tripled... oh, the huge red lantern bent the mountainside; sometimes the sky in the west turned red a little bit, until half of the sky was red, and my eyes were filled with light. Here you can see the kiss of sunshine and green water. We stared at the water and saw a pillar of light rising from the green water like a long sword that reaches the sky. It shimmered crystal clear. Sometimes it looked like rotten silver, reflecting into a silver lake; sometimes it looked like broken gold, reflecting into a sea of ??gold. Gradually, the setting sun put away the long sword and threw only wisps of red light into the green water. At that time, the dam was covered with red silk and looked particularly majestic, peaceful and fresh. Here you will also see the sunset embracing the mountains. The high morning mountain welcomed her arrival with an open mind and a smile. In an instant, she lay shyly drunk on the hillside, and finally entered the embrace of the mountain. The scenery of the mountainous countryside is extremely beautiful, and the sunset on Hengshan Mountain is particularly red.

The Ten Mile Long Causeway Hengshan Dam was built in 1958. Construction was suspended in April 1960 due to national economic difficulties. Construction resumed in January 1966. The dam was closed on June 10, 1967. Completed on September 28th. The dam is 41.5 meters high and 4090 meters long. Standing at the dam and looking south, you can see the abundant water and the long mountains. All year round, the clouds and mountains are reflected in it, making shapes and shadows, presenting a series of ink paintings. On the vast water surface, you will sometimes see big fish more than one meter long, and sometimes you will see small fish clustered in groups. Birds often come to play in the water. There are white waterfowl flying around, the osprey that catches fish with perfect accuracy, the egret with its high legs, the swans that excite their necks, and the flocks of wild ducks floating on the water. When they fly, they are densely packed, and when they fly up, they cover the sky and the sun. The mountains are also extremely green. The nearby mountains are clear, as if they are in front of you, while the distant mountains are hazy, as if in the fog. The contrast between them is interesting and fascinating. Shipan Mountain, Lingzi Mountain, Niuwei Mountain, Guodi Mountain, Jilong Mountain, Changshan, Lishan, Mopanshan, Yemao Mountain, and Tongpen Mountain in the center of the reservoir, all have different shapes and beautiful scenery. Each mountain is designed to be unique. The shape derives its name from the fact that it resembles a natural sculpture and the landscape is uniquely interesting.

Giant flood release gate There was originally a five-hole spillgate in the center of the dam. From 2000 to 2001, the state implemented a reinforcement project on the dam, established a modern automatic monitoring system for the infiltration line of the dam, and rebuilt a 3-hole × 4.6-meter floodgate with a weir crest elevation of 32 meters and a designed flow rate of 489 cubic meters/ Second. The floodgate can be said to be a wonder of the reservoir. It stands proudly in all directions and stands tall. When the flood is discharged, only three water dragons can be seen leaping out of the gate. Their momentum is like a tide, their sound is like thunder, and they flow straight into the stilling pool, with the water swirling like boiling water. Rushing like a cloud, the mist is like rolling clouds, filling both sides of the bank. The sunlight reflects, showing a rainbow of seven colors, as if the rain has begun.

There is a copper basin mountain in the upside-down copper basin library, which is like a ten-acre copper basin turned upside down on the water. The mountain is covered with green pine trees. When you are there, you really feel like a primeval forest in the Northeast. There are huge trees that reach the sky. Thicker than a basin. It has become a tit bird island. Wild ducks, swans, egrets and ospreys are sometimes circling in the air, sometimes skimming the water, sometimes traveling through the forest, and sometimes perching on the branches. It is really a world of birds.

Sunrise over Lake of Clouds. The best place to watch "Sunrise over Lake of Clouds" is to stand on the west side of the dam. As the saying goes, it is better to wake up early than to go to bed early. When it is dawn, the air on the dam is particularly fresh. At this time, looking eastward, you will see the "white fish belly" above "Chicken Cage Mountain" and "Ox Tail Mountain". ", "Carp's back", sometimes turns white, sometimes turns red, like a natural scroll that keeps turning. The water is like a long red carpet, as if to welcome you. "Sunrise on Hengshan Mountain" is better than Huangshan Mountain and beyond Mount Taishan.

Millennium Holly "Millennium Holly" is located in the Tanjiachong Villagers Group of Hengshan Village. The tree is 13 meters tall, with a trunk height of 4.5 meters, a trunk circumference of 3.6 meters, and a crown of 13.5 meters.

It is said that when Liu Bowen visited the south of the Yangtze River, he saw with his own eyes the suffering of the people, "Seventy-two streams were sailed to the west, and nine years of drought occurred in ten years." He thought it was the dragon that was causing trouble, so he planted the "thousand-year holly" with his own hands, intending to scare the dragon. Keep the people safe. It is estimated that the Millennium Holly tree is about 700 years old. According to relevant modern experts' skin sampling tests, the tree is 348 years old. Every year in March and April, the trees are covered with yellow flowers in full bloom. Whether viewed from Daxian Ridge or the Hengshan Reservoir Dam, the scene is as spectacular as an atomic bomb that has just exploded.

Natural water tank. Climb to the top of the mountain on the east side of the Hengshan Reservoir Dam, and you will have a panoramic view of the reservoir. It is surrounded by green trees, connected mountains, clear water and blue sky as far as the eye can see. From 2000 to 2001, the state implemented a reinforcement project on the dam, and the total storage capacity was increased from the original 109 million cubic meters to 112 million cubic meters. Hengshan Reservoir is one of the best water sources in our city and even in the Taihu Lake area. The water quality standard is Grade II (A), which is close to Class I water. Hongyuan Water Supply Company, which was established by the Ministry of Water Resources, the Department of Water Resources and Hengshan Reservoir, has a total investment of 130 million yuan in the "Hengshan Water Diversion Project". Construction started on February 28, 2002, and the water supply was trialled on September 16, 2003. Success. The reservoir has a water supply capacity of 80 million tons and a daily water supply of 200,000 tons. More than half of the people in Yixing have access to high-quality Hengshan water.

Water Forest Water Forest is located on the south side of Hengshan Reservoir, at the reservoir dam. Before the reinforcement, there were lush metasequoias and willows. They could only lie in the water in obscurity for the sake of the people of the city. The tragedy of the willows is awe-inspiring, and the strength of the metasequoias adds to our confidence.

Chenxi Yuge Reservoir currently has 10,000 acres of fish farming surface, with an annual output of 200 tons of various types of fresh adult fish, especially the delicious and nutritious "Hengshan Fish Head", which enjoys a high reputation along the Shanghai-Nanjing and Suzhou-Wuxi-Changzhou areas. . Fishermen are accustomed to working at night, using large nets to catch big fish and wire nets to catch small fish. Every morning, when the sun gradually rises, the fishermen return one after another to share the joy of the harvest with your own eyes. See the delicious "Yi Wang Xian", "Steamed White Fish" and "Hengshan Fish Head"
