Forbidden City Opening Hours

The Palace Museum is open year-round. The opening hours will change according to the off-peak and peak seasons. In case of statutory Opening hours may be extended or shortened on holidays. Except for statutory holidays, the Palace Museum is closed all day on Mondays throughout the year.

1. Peak season 4.1-10.31

From April 1st to October 31st every year, the peak season opening hours are adopted.

Ticket sales start at 8:30.

Ticket closing time (including Clock and Clock Hall, Treasure Hall): 16:00.

2. Off-season 11.1-3.31

Every November The off-season opening hours are from the 1st to March 31st of the following year.

Forbidden City tour route

Meridian Gate (South Gate): It is only used as a visiting entrance, and all visitors will enter the Forbidden City through the Meridian Gate;

Shenmen (North Gate): only used as a tourist exit;

East Gate (EastGate): only used Tourism export;

Forbidden City ticket price

(1) The peak season is from April 1st to October 31st every year, and the large ticket is 60 yuan/person;

(2) The off-season is from November 1st to March 31st of the following year, and the entrance fee is 40 yuan per person.

(3) Tickets for the Treasure Hall (that is, entering the Ningshou Palace area, including the Opera Hall and the Stone Drum Hall): 10 yuan/person.
