I want to go to Beijing with my girlfriend for a week and travel by myself. I want to know more about Beijing. Please answer a few questions.

Attractions worth visiting in Beijing:

1. The Forbidden City. The imperial palaces of the Ming and Qing Dynasties have a royal style.

2. The Great Wall. The checkpoint outside the Great Wall is magnificent.

3. Summer Palace.

4. Campus tour of Tsinghua University and Peking University.

5. Bird's Nest Water Cube.

Accommodation location:

I recommend a hotel 500 meters away from the Bird's Nest, Haoyishe Hotel. If you submit your company name as "United Credit", you can get a discounted price of 189 yuan/night.

Day 1:

Capital International Airport. That is the T3 terminal, which can be viewed slightly.

Take the airport bus, Zhongguancun Line, 16 yuan/person, and get off at the Asian Games Village. Walk 200 meters west to "Haoyishe Hotel".

Have lunch, take a break, visit Beichen Shopping Center, and buy some supplies (drinking water, bread, etc.). If you have artistic pursuits, spend another hour visiting the "Yanhuang Art Museum". Then walk 500 meters west to visit the Bird's Nest Water Cube and take photos in the afternoon. There is no need to enter the Bird's Nest (50 yuan ticket), it is just a big playground. You can walk around the Water Cube, but it's not very accessible. Watch the night lights of the Bird's Nest Water Cube at night.

The next day

I got up at around 5 a.m. and took a taxi (about 30 yuan) to Tiananmen Square to watch the national flag being raised.

There are no breakfast stalls near Tiananmen Square, so I eat the water and bread I bought yesterday.

At 8 a.m., we lined up to see if Chairman Mao Memorial Hall was open (I remember it was closed on certain dates). If it is open, be prepared to pay homage to Chairman Mao once every 40 minutes.

At around 9 a.m., we started visiting the Forbidden City. It is recommended to rent an electronic tour guide to better understand the history and interesting facts about the palace. Otherwise, it's just a casual stroll, and all you see is houses, which is not interesting.

At about four o'clock in the afternoon, we came out of the Forbidden City. If you come out of the North Gate of the Forbidden City, just take a taxi and go to Houhai (North Gate of Beihai) to visit bars and folk streets. Ask more about "Old Beijing Jiumen Snacks". In fact, most southerners don’t like to eat snacks from old Beijing, but for the sake of freshness, try it regardless of whether it tastes good or not. It doesn't taste good just once. Jiumen snacks are more expensive, budget 100 yuan/person.

At eight o'clock in the evening, take a taxi back to the hotel. (Most taxi drivers in Beijing are formal and honest, and will not take you on long detours. I think you can ride with confidence. Taking a taxi can save time)

Day 3

I was a little tired on the second day, so let’s visit the Great Wall on the third day and take a rest.

To go to the Great Wall from the city, just take the bus at Deshengmen. The driving time is about 1 hour. You can take a rest in the car.

When you get to the Great Wall, if you are physically able, climb up. If you are not physically strong enough, just go up on the cable car, take a few photos, and feel comfortable.

There is not much to eat at the Great Wall attractions, so remember to bring your own dry food.

Be sure to return to the city before 3 p.m. If I go back to the city after 3 o'clock, firstly, the bus will be crowded and there are no seats, so it will be hard to stand for an hour to return to the city; secondly, there will be a traffic jam on the Badaling Expressway.

Day 4

Visit the Summer Palace during the day. Went to Tsinghua University and Peking University around 4pm, had a small restaurant and took a rest. Then at 6 o'clock, we started to visit Peking University Weiming Lake and Tsinghua Lotus Pond under the moonlight. Remember to observe the demeanor of students from Peking University and Tsinghua University. Figure it out for yourself.

Day 5

Go to Wangfujing and Sanlitun in the morning. Be sure to take a taxi to save time.

Check out at noon.

Go to the airport in the afternoon. Get on the airport bus before 3 p.m., otherwise you may be stuck in traffic and miss the 5 p.m. flight.

There is not much to see in the Ming Tombs. The emperor’s tomb is nothing interesting and very far away.

According to my travel advice, 6.5K is enough for 2 people.

It’s already a bit cold in Beijing in mid-October, so remember to bring thick clothes.
