Recommended places to visit during the day in Xi'an

Xi'an's tourist attractions include Xi'an's Bell and Drum Towers, Shaanxi Museum, Big Wild Goose Pagoda and Ming City Wall.

Xi is one of the four ancient capitals in China. It was designated as a "World Historic City" by UNESCO in 1981 and one of the top ten ancient capitals in the world selected by the American media.

1. Bell and Drum Tower. Xi'an Bell and Drum Tower, the collective name for Xi'an Bell and Drum Tower and Xi'an Drum Tower, is located in the center of Xi'an. It is Xi's landmark building. The two Ming Dynasty buildings echo each other and are spectacular.

2. Big Wild Goose Pagoda. Located in Jinchangfang, Chang'an City in the Tang Dynasty (today's south of Xishi, Shaanxi Province), it is also known as the "Cien Temple Pagoda". As the earliest and largest existing brick pagoda in the Tang Dynasty, the Big Wild Goose Pagoda is a typical physical evidence that the architectural form of ancient Indian Buddhist temples and pagodas was introduced to the Central Plains with Buddhism and integrated into Chinese culture.

3. Xi'an City Wall, also known as Xi'an Ming City Wall, is the largest and most complete ancient city wall in China. It is one of the first batch of national key cultural relics protection units and a national AAAA tourist attraction. The Xi'an City Wall has four main gates: Changle Gate (East Gate), Yongning Gate (South Gate), Anding Gate (West Gate) and Anyuan Gate (North Gate). These four gates are also the original gates of the ancient city wall. Since the Republic of China, many new city gates have been built to facilitate access to the ancient city. So far, Xi'an City Wall has 18 gates.
