The annual Xuanwu Lake Lotus Festival has begun. In addition, Xuanwu Lake Ice Lotus themed cultural and creative ice cream was launched and sold at Xuanwu Gate, Jiefangmen, and Couple Park Visitor Center. At the same time, in order to enhance citizens’ night tour experience, Xuanwu Lake Scenic Area will launch a series of night tour activities. For example, the night light show, sightseeing bus operation hours are extended, the night tour line is opened, and the opening hours of Lingzhou Ecological Park are extended to 9 pm.

Nearly 500 acres of lotus are planted on the surface of the Xuanwu Lake Scenic Area, with the characteristic variety "Xuanwu Red Lotus" being the main one, and other varieties such as white lotus also included. Xuanwu Red Lotus is a native lotus species with large flowers, layered petals, red with white, delicate and beautiful, and highly ornamental. Moreover, Xuanwu Red Lotus has a long flowering period and can bloom from the end of June to mid-to-late August.
