Reflections on Bi Shumin's spiritual journey.
Travel, first of all, is a physical marathon, which requires a lot of preparation in advance. Let's talk about the physical aspect first. According to my one-sided experience, there are three important things about traveling. First of all, time, of course. People often think that the most important premise of travel is money, so saving money is the premise of travel. In fact, you can travel without money or less money. In this regard, as long as you collect patiently, you will find many tips to save money. If we compare a person to a car, the gasoline that drives us forward is not money, but time. This truth is extremely simple. You have no time, you can't do anything. What are you talking about? In other words, there was only one direction of travel, and that was the center of the earth.
The second thing is to let go of your troubles. Sorrow is the deadly killer of travel. People can travel carefree. Sadness has weight, and one or two sorrows can turn into thousands of weights, making you stumble and get bruised all over. The most common worry comes from thinking about how many Jin of rice, how many strands of vegetables you can buy and how long you can live a well-fed daily life if you save the money for this trip. It is a habit to take the time to satisfy one's appetite as the unit of measurement. It used to be useful, but there is no need to stick to it now. As soon as many people in China encounter novel and expensive things, they immediately convert them into expenses of rice and noodles, and take grain as a constant measure. Thrift is a virtue, but everything is considered to endanger life safety, and living becomes a burden. If someone travels, you will certainly hear such advice. The formula for converting everything into rice immediately comes from the mental trauma left over from the farming era when food and clothing are not enough. If you must save all your money for preventive measures, this is your freedom, and no one else can interfere. But you have to understand that after the physiological function of the body is satisfied, you don't have to worry about the viscera blindly. Always let your body talk to itself about those hungry things, and you will destroy the possibility of seeing the world, and you can only spend your life in the radius of belly painting. This kind of life, in the past when food and clothing have not been solved, is a last resort, and may even become a trump card to survive first. Today, times have changed too much.
The third thing is to live in the moment of the body. How do you say this? Now that you are well, you can start. Just walk with your legs up, and you don't have to worry about heart failure, vomiting blood and the pain of cancer all day. I'm thinking, I still have the ability to earn some money and prepare for future treatment. I believe the national social security mechanism will get better and better. I pinched my arms and legs, thinking that they could still bear the beating. At present, it is not a problem to climb high and eat low. If I really get a serious illness that tens of thousands of RMB can't be cured in the future, I will just die peacefully. Before I died, I thought of my vigorous skill and keen eyes. I also had an arbitrary trip, and I was probably proud when I was dying.
I'm an old car, and I don't have much gas. I'm going to drive it carefully and carefully on the road. Life is a tiny water lily in the universe, which will die one day. Before that, I must take the time to have a look at the chaos in the four fields and see the great achievements and relics left by the British generation in a period of time.
Finally, I decided to take a step forward. Many people have a habit of taking out a pen and paper before going out and listing everything they want to bring. In the travel cheats, the pitch of this list is all taught. Wear leather gloves and snow boots in cold areas and sunscreen, sunglasses and mosquito repellent oil in tropical areas. Even in lukewarm land, you should bring a flashlight, berberine and the telephone number of the embassy or consulate. ...
These are all very necessary. But there is one thing, no matter where you go, you can't leave for a moment. That is-do you remember to bring your soul?
It is said that ancient Indians had a habit. When their bodies move too fast, they will stop, camp and wait patiently for their souls to keep up. Some people say it will stop in three days, while others say it will stop in seven days. In short, people can't just go on, but stay in the gap between trips and meet their own souls. The soul seems to be a weak person with a heavy burden or clumsy hands and feet, and often falls behind slowly. If you walk fast, it can't keep up. I think the most meaningful part of this statement is to prove that our bodies and souls are out of sync and separated during travel. And an excellent trip is naturally a highly coordinated body and soul, and life and death depend on each other.
A good trip should be as natural as breathing. The essence of travel is learning, and learning is human instinct. As a doctor, I know that people should keep learning all their lives. I am no longer a doctor, but this habit, like smallpox, has left mottled marks in my heart. Traveling lets me know what people who have lived before me have thought and done. Travel also let me know that in those years before I was born, nature's kindness and harsh punishment. During the trip, I learned that people should not be proud, how lonely the world is, how majestic the mountains are and how vast the sea is. I also learned in my travels that there is no need to be sad when I die, because you have not disappeared, you just go back and forth in another way.
These are not solved by physical exercise alone, and can only be left to the soul during the journey of completing homework. Whisper when you leave, and remember to put down the soul in your backpack. It is very light, without any weight, and does not occupy an inch of space, but it is far more important than GPS. When you are hungry, it is your bread, and when you are in danger, it will help you tide over the difficulties. When you are singing and laughing, it is also smiling silently. When you beat your chest, it also shed tears and was heartbroken ... Even if the soul can't shine on our journey like a candle, it must at least follow us with the same ups and downs, never giving up and never stopping for three days. Otherwise, we are just a stumbling floating body, beating and giving out empty echoes, like Populus euphratica withered thousands of years ago.
