Harbin is known as "Little Paris of the East", "Moscow of the East" and "Ice City". Harbin's European-style buildings and ice scenery are the most attractive to tourists, such as St. Sophia Church, Harbin Polar Museum, St. Alexeyev Church, Central Street, Sun Island Park, etc.

1. St. Sophia Church

St. Sophia Church was built in March 1907. It was originally the military chapel of the 4th Infantry Division of Tsarist Russia in Eastern Siberia. In the same year, with funding from Russian tea merchants, a church with a wooden structure was rebuilt on the basis of the military church.

Rebuilt in 1932, it became the largest Orthodox church in the Far East. The church has a strong exotic atmosphere and has become a unique landscape in Harbin. It is a historical witness and important relic of Tsarist Russia's invasion of Northeast China.

2. Harbin Polar Pavilion

Harbin Polar Pavilion is the world's first polar performing arts amusement park, one of the four major scenic spots of the Harbin International Ice and Snow Festival, a national 4A-level tourist attraction, and China's first polar performing arts amusement park. An amusement park with polar animal entertainment performances as its core, it has the most comprehensive range of polar and Antarctic animals and polar animal performances.

3. St. Alexeev Church

St. Alexeev Church was originally a military church located in Gongzhuling. It was moved to Harbin after the Russo-Japanese War. The location was changed several times, and a wooden structure church was built here in 1912. In 1935, it was changed to a masonry structure.

Designed by Russian architect Smirnov Toftanovsky. Originally belonging to the Orthodox Church, it was transferred to the Catholic Church in 1980 and is now known as the Immaculate Conception Church.

4. Central Street

Central Street was built in 1898. The street starts from the Songhua River Flood Control Memorial Tower in the north and ends at Jingwei Street in the south. There are 71 European-style and imitation-European-style buildings in the street, and there are 13 municipally protected buildings in Renaissance, Baroque, eclectic and modern styles.

On June 1, 1997, it became the first commercial pedestrian street in the country. In 2005, Central Street was awarded the "China Human Settlements Environment Model Award" by the Ministry of Construction.

In March 2008, Oriental Little Paris-Harbin Central Street was awarded the "United Nations Architectural Achievement Award" by the United Nations. At the same time, Harbin Central Street was awarded the title of "Architectural Art Museum" by the country. In 2009, Central Street was rated as one of the first batch of Chinese historical and cultural streets.

5. Sun Island Park

Sun Island Park is a park attraction. It is located on the north bank of the Songhua River in downtown Harbin, across the river from Stalin Park. Sun Island Park is a well-known summer resort at home and abroad. It is a bright pearl of Harbin and the glory and pride of the Harbin people.

In the early 1980s, the singer Zheng Xulan sang "Beautiful Sun Island", singing the charm and original flavor of Sun Island.
