Louta Town is located at the crossroads of Xiaoshan, Fuyang and Zhuji. The territory is surrounded by mountains with steep peaks and dangerous terrain. Louta ancient town is a large-scale settlement of Lou family in the world, and it is also a historical and cultural protection and utilization village in Zhejiang Province and an intangible cultural heritage tourist attraction in Zhejiang Province.

Louta Town was called Gaotun in Wei and Jin Dynasties, and belonged to Changshan Township from the middle and late Tang Dynasty to the Song Dynasty. The Yuan Dynasty was divided into ten capitals, eleven capitals and twelve capitals. In the second year of Xuantong in Qing Dynasty (19 10), it was still Changshan Township.
