Where is Shimei Bay in Hainan?

Shimei Bay is located in Wanning Shimei Bay Tourist Resort on the east coast of Hainan.

Shimei Bay is 8km away from Sanya, near the East Line Expressway and the East Ring High-speed Railway, with convenient transportation. The whole Bay Area covers an area of 12 square kilometers. In terms of physical geography, the Bay Area is surrounded by mountains on three sides and faces the sea on one side, enjoying 6 kilometers of blue sea and silver beach and 4,-year-old coastal green husk forest. Therefore, the Bay Area is committed to building a complex of coastal living, holiday and tourist areas with cultural tourism, recreation and leisure sports as the main functions.

Shimeiwan Tourist Resort is located in the south of Xinglong Overseas Chinese Farm in Wanning, Hainan. Wanning City is located in the southeast coast of Hainan Island, with 11.39 degrees east longitude and 18.8 degrees north latitude, bordering the South China Sea in the east, Qiongzhong in the west, Lingshui in the south and Qionghai in the north. It consists of two crescent-shaped bays, with a six-kilometer-long blue sea and silver beach, surrounded by low slopes with dense vegetation.

Origin of the name of Shimei Bay:

The name of Shimei Bay originated from this magnificent landscape. It is an original southern landscape, surrounded by mountains on three sides and facing the sea on one side. The mountain shape is beautiful and consists of two crescent-shaped bays. Xiuyu strange stone, fine waves and soft sand, beautiful.

Therefore, the "stone" in Shimei Bay comes from Wushimu. In Hainan dialect, "black" is called "Wu", and the stone is called "Shimu". Wushimu means black stone, which is scattered in the sea area on the east side of Shimei Bay, and there are often beautiful scenery of waves hitting rocks and splashing waves.

"green husk" is also called "green plum", from which the plum in Shimei Bay comes. The green leather forest belt in the bay is long and narrow, stretching for several kilometers along the beach, caring for two crescent-shaped beaches. Shimeiwan got its name from this.
