Where is Gu'an in Beijing?

Gu'an County is part of Langfang City, Hebei Province, directly south of Beijing.

Gu'an County is located in the northern part of the North China Plain, in the hinterland of the Beijing-Tianjin-Baotou Triangle, with 116°17' east longitude and 39°19' north latitude. It is connected to Yongqing County in the east, Zhuozhou City and Gaobeidian City in Baoding to the west, Bazhou City and Xiongan New District in the south, and faces Daxing District in Beijing across the Yongding River in the north.

Gu'an is the "front-line" frontier area for Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei to implement the "first-line and two-part" strategy, and is also an important fulcrum for the "Big Three" group of Langfang's urban construction. It has been awarded titles such as "Hometown of Hot Springs in China", "Hometown of Flowers and Trees in China", "Hometown of Chinese Folk Culture and Art", and "Hometown of Mineral Water in China" by relevant national departments.

Historical evolution

Gu'an County has a long history. The Tang, Yu and Xia Shang Dynasties belonged to the land of Ji and You. According to "Chronology of the Bamboo Book", "Geography of the Former Han Dynasty", "Shui Jing Zhu" and related historical materials, King Wu of Zhou appointed Yin and granted Duke Zhao to Yan, and the area belonged to the State of Yan.

In the Spring and Autumn Period, this place was a Fangcheng town in the State of Yan. During the Warring States Period, this place was a Fangcheng town and a Linxiang lord state, subordinate to the states of Yan and Zhao. Qin unified the world, and this area belonged to the Fangcheng area of ??Shanggu County.

In the sixth year of Emperor Kaihuang's reign in the Sui Dynasty (586 AD), Gu'an County was established, and its administrative seat remained in the old city of Fangcheng. The original name of Fangcheng was the same as that of Fangcheng County in Yangjun, so it was borrowed from the name of Gu'an (now Yixian) in the Northern Wei Dynasty and belonged to Zhuojun in Youzhou. Its jurisdiction includes the current area, western Yongqing, northern Bazhou, eastern Gaobeidian City and part of Xiongxian County.

In the Qing Dynasty, Gu'an County belonged to the Shuntianfu South Road Office of the capital. In the early years of the Republic of China, it followed the Qing system; in the 17th year of the Republic of China (1928 AD), it came under the jurisdiction of Hebei Province.

In April 1989, the Langfang area was abolished and Gu'an County came under the jurisdiction of Langfang City.
