Best time to visit Chongming Island

Recommended in May-June and September-October.

I am a local, and I personally feel that Chongming is very cold in winter (it is humid and cold here, and people from Beijing call it cold when they come here), and it is also relatively hot in summer, with temperatures often exceeding 35°C in July and August.

There are also some reasons. Spring really begins in Chongming Island from May to June, and the weather really starts to become pleasant. In addition, the Chongming Forest Park will hold a tourism festival from September to October, and Chongming crabs are also on sale (authentic Chongming crabs are very delicious).

The bus lines here may not be as developed as those in urban Shanghai, so please be fully prepared before traveling.
