Where do China tourists like to travel best?

On March 3th, 214, several tourists from China took photos in a Buddhist temple in Chiang Mai, Thailand.

From silly TV series like

The Big Bang Theory to elegant classical poems, there are many factors that affect where China tourists go for their holidays, and these factors ultimately decide whether they go to Pasadena to eat cheesecake or Cambridge to enjoy willows.

China tourists often decide where to go for a tour on a whim, which will be ignored for the time being. But after arriving at the destination, how satisfied are they?

a recent report by China Tourism Academy (CTA) answers this question to some extent. The think tank surveyed 22 tourist destinations, and the results showed that in the first quarter of this year, the three countries that China tourists were most satisfied with were New Zealand, the United States and Canada, followed by Cambodia, Indonesia and Viet Nam.

France (ninth), Japan (12th) and Russia (15th) ranked in the middle (see the overall ranking at the end of the article). CTA belongs to China National Tourism Administration.

The report found that China tourists are most dissatisfied with outbound travel because of security issues, poor Chinese service and travel costs. In terms of overall environment, transportation and urban management, outbound travel scored higher.

at the same time, the number of China citizens traveling abroad is rising continuously. CTA estimates that in the first quarter of this year, the number of outbound tourists from China was about 26.4 million, up 17% year-on-year, and the expenditure on tourists' travel expenses was 3.4 billion US dollars, up 16% year-on-year.

it is expected that this number will rise sharply. CLSA predicts that by 22, the number of overseas tourists from mainland China will reach 2 million per year, compared with 1 million last year.

considering the severe smog and traffic congestion in China, it is understandable that more and more China tourists choose to enjoy their holidays overseas. According to CTA, the satisfaction of domestic travel is the lowest since 29, and air quality is one reason.

CTA said that overseas tourists also voted with their feet, perhaps for fear of pollution or other reasons: the number of inbound tourists in China decreased by 3% to 31 million.
