It borders Guizhou and Guangxi in the east, Sichuan in the north, Tibet in the northwest, Myanmar in the west and Laos and Vietnam in the south. 1, Sichuan has six world heritage sites, ranking second in the country. Among them, there are 3 World Natural Heritage Sites (Jiuzhaigou, Huanglong and Sichuan Giant Panda Habitat), World Cultural and Natural Heritage Sites 1 (Emei Mountain-Leshan Giant Buddha), World Cultural Heritage Sites 1 (Qingcheng Mountain-Dujiangyan) and World Irrigation Project Heritage Sites 1 (Dongfeng Weir).
There are four protected areas listed in the World Man and Biosphere Protection Network (Jiuzhai, Wolong, Huanglong and Daocheng Yading).
