Introduction

Liyuan Garden, located on the shore of the beautiful Lihu Lake, is one of the main attractions of the national key scenic spot "Taihu Lake". The park is named after the lake. Lihu Lake, formerly known as "Wuli Lake", is an inner lake on the northeastern shore of Taihu Lake. Surrounded by water on three sides, you can see the green mountains in the distance and hear the long waves crashing on the shore. The spring dawn on the South embankment is full of peach red and green willows. The water-lined promenade changes the scenery as you walk; the rockeries are towering and green, twisting and turning; the pavilions and pavilions are layered with waves. . Guo Moruo, a great contemporary writer, has a wonderful line: "If you want to know the beauty of Li Garden, ask the young man at Yatou." Moreover, the rockeries in Liyuan are stacked on top of the water and come alive because of the water, fully demonstrating the infinite interest of the "rockery and real water" blending the mountains and rivers.

Historical Legend

Fan Li

An outstanding politician in the late Spring and Autumn Period. In his early years, Fan Li went to Yue State with Wanling Wenzhong and became a doctor. In the 24th year of King Zhou Jing's reign (496 BC), King Yun of Yue died and Gou Jian ascended the throne. After taking the throne, Fan Li took charge of the military affairs and revitalized the country of Yue hand in hand with Wen Zhong, who was in charge of government affairs. He assisted Gou Jian in lying down on the firewood and trying to avenge his embarrassment. After more than 10 years of hard work, the country of Yue finally turned from weakness to strength. In the fifteenth year of Gou Jian's reign, Fan Li suggested that Gou Jian send troops to attack Wu, attack the capital of Wu (now Suzhou, Jiangsu), and kill Prince Wu. In the twenty-fourth year of Goujian's reign, the Vietnamese army broke into Wudu after three years of siege, and Fucha committed suicide. The State of Yue finally annexed the State of Wu. After Gou Jian came to hegemony, Fan Li knew that Gou Jian was a man who "can share hardships with others and share happiness with others", so he decided to retreat bravely from the rapids, so he resigned and retired to the state of Qi. He was good at business management and managed to manage a fortune worth tens of millions. The people of Qi respected him as a wise man and asked him to be their prime minister. Not long after he took office as Prime Minister of Qi, Fan Li gave up his official position and dispersed his wealth, and moved to Dingtao. He did business in Dingtao and accumulated tens of millions of dollars, and became a millionaire, named Tao Zhugong.
