Once "Guilin's landscape was the best in the world", why didn't Guilin's tourism industry develop as before?

July and August began to enter the domestic tourist season, because during this time, both office workers and students want to have a relaxed environment to cool off because of the weather and time. At this time, many famous mountains and rivers and scenic spots will come into people's sight one after another, so a large number of friends will show the scenery around them, but behind these prosperity, there is an indisputable fact. Is Guilin the best scenery in the world? It doesn't seem so popular. At that time, many people would think of Guilin as long as they talked about tourism. Guilin has become one of the three choices that many people plan to visit. Why is Guilin's tourism less developed than before? Personally, I have been to Guilin in August of 20 19. Let's talk about my personal opinion:

First, insufficient investment.

When I got off the train and walked out of the railway station, to be honest, it was not like a tourist prefecture-level city, but like a very ordinary county-level station, and even some supporting facilities were not as good as ordinary county-level towns. Let's compare Guilin Railway Station and Zhangjiajie Railway Station, both of which are prefecture-level cities supported by tourism. Walking out of Zhangjiajie Railway Station, you can feel the oncoming tourist atmosphere, with a wide square surrounded by hotels. But Guilin seems to lack this atmosphere. The whole railway station looks a bit shabby, and there are not many service facilities around it. There are no large supermarkets around the railway station, and the surrounding houses are a bit shabby, which makes people feel that the status of the city is not too high.

In fact, before this, Guilin's urban status was extremely high, but with the development of the times, Guilin's urban status has long ceased to exist, and its economic aggregate is not the same as that of Nanning, the provincial capital, and Liuzhou, which is famous for its industry. In Guangxi, a city with average economic development, it only ranks third, which makes people sad. Guilin has become the lowest-key city in Guangxi.

Second, the service facilities can't keep up

It was past three o'clock in the morning when I arrived in Guilin. A taxi arrived at the gate of the railway station and reached the area where Elephant Trunk Mountain was located. At this time, I went to the hotel and found several hotels through the mobile phone software, because in my impression, the hotels were all open at this time, but it was very unexpected. Although the lights are on, the doors of these hotels are locked. Then only the security guard came out of a hotel and said there was no staff. Finally, I found an Internet cafe to rest.

The feeling of playing in Elephant Trunk Mountain is very different from that of imagination, which may be because there is not much water and beauty in Elephant Trunk Mountain in dry season.

After flowing through Elephant Trunk Mountain, I want to take a trip to Lijiang River. As a result, when I arrived at the dock through the map, I found that I had missed the time. It was only one o'clock in the afternoon, and the pier was not the Lijiang River pier. As for the inconvenient transportation, I don't want to talk about it. Another group of tourists also encountered the same scene.

Maybe some of my experiences are just personal experiences and feelings, maybe right or wrong, but I worked as a soldier in Guangxi and devoted my youth to this land, hoping that this land will remain prosperous.
