After reading the material requirements of the German Consulate, I found it difficult to book air tickets and accommodation. It needs a definite itinerary and does not accept cancellable reservations, so I decided to apply to the Spanish consulate for a longer stay and travel in Spain.

Second, book tickets online.

I don't know if it's summer vacation, but I can only make an appointment from late May to late June, so everyone should make an appointment online at least one month in advance, and it's not too late to make an appointment before preparing the materials.

After the appointment is successful, an email will be sent to the filled-in mailbox, and the appointment can be modified or cancelled by email. Although the staff asked me if I had printed the letter of appointment when handing over the materials, I said I didn't have to print it, so I personally don't think it is necessary to print the letter of appointment for environmental protection.

Depending on the purpose of the trip, the materials to be prepared are slightly different. As mentioned earlier, although the landlord intends to apply for a trip to Spain, he is actually going to Portugal for a meeting. 1. Application Form

It can be downloaded in official website and filled in English. I think there may be some problems in the process of filling in:

(1) date format. Except the date of birth clearly requires the format of "day-month-year", there are no clear format requirements elsewhere (such as date of issuance and expiration date), which should be consistent with "day-month-year" or the original documents (such as "20 1 1 day" and others that I filled in on the application form.

(2)7.** Current nationality. I know my nationality should be filled in Chinese, but my China is too unstable to fill in any more. There was no problem when I submitted it.

(3) 16. Issuing authority. Copy the issuing authority on the passport in small print.

(4) 17. Address and email. Keep the address consistent with other materials such as bank letters.

(5) 18. Whether you live in a country other than your current nationality. I filled in "No" and there was no problem when I submitted it.

I left some photos of my previous application for an American visa. I cut it with scissors according to the size requirements, and it was a little crooked, so I made do with it. But in the end, the visa was not a photo prepared by myself, but a photo taken on the spot (extremely ugly and deformed horizontally). It should have nothing to do with hand cutting, and the good photos prepared by my sister who went with me are useless. They were caught in the act.

3. Original and photocopy of passport

Passport pages to be copied include: personal information page and previous visa page. I copied all the visa pages for security reasons. Finally, I did not accept the visa pages of Japan and Thailand, but accepted the visa pages of the United States and Schengen.

4. Original and photocopy of Hong Kong Identity Card

The original Hong Kong ID card is required before submitting the materials, and the main purpose should be to check the identity. Copy of ID card has been received.

5. Hong Kong and Macao residence visa and its photocopy

It seems that the purpose of the Hong Kong and Macao Pass is only to check the identity. I copied the personal information page, the mainland stay endorsement page (gray-blue), the Hong Kong Immigration Department endorsement page (red) and the first entry endorsement page (white paper), and only received the first and last one. I think the last bill should be all right.

6. Travel insurance and photocopy

Medical insurance with an amount of not less than 300,000 euros can be purchased at your own credit card issuing bank and major insurance companies in Hong Kong. I bought it at Prudential for 15 days, with the insured amount of10.2 million Hong Kong dollars and the premium of 245.7 Hong Kong dollars. The insurance confirmation letter is sent by e-mail with instructions in Chinese and English. Just print out the insurance confirmation email. In addition to the email, I also printed the detailed policy terms and conditions, and printed two copies according to the requirements of the document list, but I didn't receive it, so I only need to prepare an insurance confirmation letter containing the protection list, without the details and the number of copies. It is a sin to waste a lot of paper!

7. Round-trip ticket to Hong Kong

I don't care about the plane ticket. I only prepared a round trip from Hong Kong to Lisbon, Portugal. Because I didn't think there would be any problem with my visa, I paid for the plane ticket myself and left for a trip. Actually, you don't have to pay. Pre-order is acceptable.

Although only round-trip air tickets have been prepared, it is suggested to prepare an intercity transportation reservation form in Schengen. Train tickets, air tickets, unpaid or cancellable tickets are all acceptable.

8. Financial certificate and photocopy

March bank statement is enough, and the copy is confiscated. I still had about 30 thousand or 40 thousand in my bank account at that time I went to the bank to apply for a stamped bank statement in the last three months, because the list of documents said that electronic printing was not accepted. The bank won't stamp my printed documents. I need to apply. The mailing cycle is 7 working days, so I must reserve time. There is also a monthly payment of 50 Hong Kong dollars. What a pit! Explain the purpose and requirements to the bank staff, such as stamping, and it is also possible to send a copy that is exactly the same as that printed online, and it is not obvious that it is handled by the bank.

My sister didn't have time to apply for a stamp, and the bank didn't want to stamp the printed documents, so she went to the bank and asked them to get the certificate. Anyway, I can see that I didn't print it myself, and the bank statements printed in the last three months have also been received.

9. Hotel Reservation Form

Accept all hotel reservations during Schengen, and cancel them free of charge when booking.

10. Copy of school holiday letter and student ID card

The holiday letter written by the administrative staff of the department shall be signed by the head of the department. The school holiday letter said that it would go to Portugal for a meeting and travel to Spain, so it also prepared an invitation letter for the meeting and accepted it.

Four. Application process

The Spanish Consulate is located in Room 5303, 53rd floor, Central Plaza. Wan Chai MTR Station Exit A, walk along the overpass to the seaside, and turn right at the Immigration Department. This building is the central square.

My appointment time is 9:20 am, and I will arrive at the consulate at 9: 00 am. This is a small place with only two chairs to sit on. Although the online booking interval is 5 minutes, it actually takes about 20 minutes for an applicant to receive the materials, so it's my turn to make an appointment.

The person who answered the phone was a middle-aged man in Hong Kong, who was very nice. In the process of reading the materials, I mainly questioned my purpose of going to Europe, saying that my main purpose was to have a meeting and I should apply to the German consulate. I answered which country I applied for, because I heard that I would stay in which country for a long time. He still said that your main purpose is not to travel, but to have a meeting. I received your materials, but they were rejected by the authorities, which delayed you. I have nothing to say but look out the window and think that all my plane ticket money has been wasted. After a while, he asked me if I had applied for the German consulate. I saidno. He helped me check the reservation of the German consulate on the computer and said it was too late to apply for Germany now. I didn't speak. I'm still considering the plane ticket and the registration fee for the conference. Nearly ten thousand yuan. After a while, he said, well, your current materials, except hotel reservations, don't show that you are going to Spain. Getting a visa and applying for a visa are the same window. Passports are in the small basket behind them. After getting the visa, I found that the visa was actually issued on Tuesday. Considering the materials I handed in last Friday night, I could have sent them in two working days.

In addition, the date on the visa is two days earlier than the arrival date I filled in, and the date of my departure is one month later than what I wrote. The time I can stay in Schengen is 30 days, which is twice as long as the 15 I applied for. This is much easier than the Schengen visa I applied for at the Swiss Consulate in Beijing last time.
