Cherry Maruko: Are teenagers from Italy good-looking?

It is true that, as far as the plot is concerned, the theatrical version of "Young from Italy" of "Cherry Maruko" does not have much emotion that can really touch people's hearts, and it is even a propaganda film for Japanese tourism. However, when the painting style and time setting still remain in the animation of the 1990s, it still evokes a simple feeling from the audience.

The theatrical version of "Cherry Maruko" does not appear as frequently as many fiery Japanese cartoons. So far, there are only three theatrical versions, including this boy from Italy. Judging from the plot, The Boy from Italy can be said to be no better than Shining on You. Compare the sincere childlike innocence of My Favorite Song and Days of Friendship, and the derivation between Maruko and Italian teenagers.

It's not just emotions that make the movie look abrupt. This theatrical version is more like shooting a Japanese tourism promo with Maruko. Temple shrines in Kyoto, Osaka Castle in Osaka, Kazuki Watanabe musician Theatre, Octopus Burning and Mount Fuji all appeared in the film, but these appearances didn't really serve the plot. By using many coincidences and prominent scenic spots, the film is full of a deliberate intention, which not only blurs the plot of Italian teenager Andre looking for ancestral memories.

Why does the movie evoke a feeling when the plot is abrupt and the emotion is hard to see? This is because Conan keeps pace with the times and uses a mobile phone. The film still stays in the original image of Maruko, and time has left almost no trace in this animated film. Andre's story is actually a good cut-in about parting, and the fetters of family and friendship still remain its internal inheritance.

Although the weakness of the plot makes the film hard to recover, the story of Maruko and his family is still regarded as a long-lost innocence, which is more valuable than the endless animation of various gimmicks.
