I beg you to appreciate Lu You’s two poems "Dreamwalking in Shen Garden"! !
Sleepwalking in Shen's Garden Pavilion on the night of December 2nd
Part One
I was afraid of walking on the road near the south of the city, and I was even more sad in Shen's home.
Plum blossoms are on the sleeves of guests wearing fragrance, and spring water grows on temple bridges in green.
Second
It is spring again on the small street in the south of the city, with only plum blossoms but no people.
The jade bones have been sinking in the spring for a long time, and the ink marks are like dust on the wall.
In fact, I really don’t know what kind of feelings can be so unforgettable that people can’t forget them even after decades, and even appear repeatedly in dreams. Shen Yuan was the place where Lu You and Tang Wan had sex, and it was also the place where they met again after they broke up. Regarding Shen Yuan, Lu You really had all kinds of ups and downs in his heart. In the first two sentences of the first poem, we can already feel the misery in the author's heart. Before arriving at Shen Garden, he was only "near the south of the city". He was already sad and did not dare to move forward. When I arrived at Shen Yuan, I felt even more sad. The plum blossoms are still fragrant, the grass is green, everything is as vibrant as before, but the people who traveled with it are no longer there, which forms a strong contrast with the pain in my heart, as if it is a mockery. The second song basically has the same meaning as the first song, but it mentions the old wall where the two of them wrote "The Hairpin-headed Phoenix". The ink marks are still there but covered with dust, which shows how much time has passed! I think that even though we broke up back then, my sweetheart is still there, but now my old friend has passed away long ago, and I will never see her again, leaving only memories, which is really touching!
Both of these two scenes use the vitality of the scenery to reflect the deep sorrow in the heart, which can be said to be more profound. Lu You's sadness and nostalgia are reflected in every line, which can be said to be 100% true. reveal. Judging from the title, Lu You only dreamed of this scene in a dream. Although many times we forget what we dreamed about when we wake up, it is obvious that Lu You's dream shocked him so much. It has been a long time since Tang Wan's death. It has been nearly 50 years, and even the shelf life of true love has come to an end, but Lu You is still unforgettable, which shows that Lu You is deeply affectionate. These two poems are not inferior to "The Hairpin Phoenix", and even better reflect Lu You's true feelings of pain.
Logan, tonight I took the moon boat again and sleepwalked to your side. Wan'er, I am the soul of Lu You from hundreds of years ago. My online name is Xiaoxiao Tanhua. Wan'er, you are a flower of love passed down from generation to generation. Tonight I come to Shen Garden to visit you.
Wan'er, when I saw the sad song "The Hairpin-headed Phoenix" on the wall of Shen Garden, I burst into tears. After so many years of vicissitudes of life, only this song is sung in the world. Wan'er, let the moon play the pipa tonight, and let me sing for you an eternal song "The Hairpin-headed Phoenix":
Red hands, yellow wine, the city is full of spring scenery and willows on the palace walls.
The east wind is evil, happiness is thin, a cup of melancholy, and a few years away.
Wrong, wrong, wrong!
Spring is as old as ever, people are thin and empty, and the tears are red and raw.
The peach blossoms are falling, and the pavilion is idle. Although the alliance is there, it is difficult to trust the brocade book.
Mo, Mo, Mo!
Wan'er, when I sang this song, my heart felt so desolate and desperate. Why can't we recognize each other now that we know each other? Wan'er, our short-lived love makes me miss you all my life.
Wan'er, "There was once a true love in front of me, but I didn't cherish it. If God gives me another chance..." Wan'er, how much I want to kneel in front of you tonight and stand for you. An era apologizes to you. How I want to turn into a wooden fish and be tapped by your delicate fingers... Wan'er, my flying tears have strung a hundred thousand rosary beads for you, crying and complaining in the rolling world...
Wan'er, Even the long time cannot block the sight of our love. Even if God has laid a dragnet, he cannot catch our noble souls.
Wan'er, our alluring love is gone forever. The distant Milky Way cannot stop the legend of our love. Tonight, you and I meet by chance, making my lonely heart ripple again. Your startling glance is my thousand-year sigh.
Wan'er, tonight in Shen Yuan in my dream, I heard your return song "The Hairpin-headed Phoenix" again, and that cold song beat my sleeplessness:
The Love of the World Thin, human feelings are evil. Yellow flowers fall easily when rain comes.
The wind dries at dawn, leaving traces of tears. When I want to write down my thoughts, I talk to the railing alone.
Difficult, difficult, difficult!
People are different, today is not yesterday, and the sick soul is like a rope on a swing.
The sound of the horn is cold and the night is dark. Afraid of being asked, I swallow my tears and pretend to be happy.
Hide it, hide it, hide it!
Wan'er, many years from now, when I am old, I will wander around the Shen Garden in my dreams every night, looking for the shadow of my past love. The human face disappears in the peach blossoms. I wish that a passing river would take us back to the past. Wan'er, in the Shen Garden where the flowers bloom and fall, I will still leave you a few heart-breaking lines of poetry on the white wall:
The green spring waves under the sad bridge were once the stunning photos. Shadow comes.
The flowers in Shen’s home are like brocades, half of which were from the time when he knew Fang Weng.
I also believe that beauty will eventually become ashes, unable to endure the hurried dream.
Wan'er, tonight I am in Zhengzhou and my heart is in Shenyuan. In a corner of Jiangnan, there is a complex that has haunted me all my life, and that is you. Shen Yuan, for many years I wrote poems and wandered around, but I didn’t dare to really get close to you.
Under the lonely lamp in the middle of the night, I miss you in distant Zhengzhou. Wan'er, if there is an afterlife,
Red hands, yellow wine, the city will be filled with spring scenery and willows on the palace walls.
The east wind is evil, happiness is thin, and melancholy brings me away for a few years. Wrong, wrong, wrong.
Spring is as old as ever, people are thin and empty, and the tears are red and raw. The peach blossoms have fallen, and the pavilion is idle. Although the mountain alliance is there, it is difficult to hold the brocade book. Mo, mo, mo.
Tang Wanhe's poem:
The world is thin, human nature is evil, and flowers tend to fall when the rain comes at dusk. At dawn, the wind has dried, and the traces of tears remain. I want to write about personnel matters, and I talk alone across the fence. Disaster! Disaster! Disaster!
People are different, today is not yesterday, and the sick soul is like a rope on a swing. The sound of the horn is cold, the fence is beautiful at night, I am afraid of being asked, I swallow my tears and make up for joy, hiding it! conceal! conceal!
This poem is very famous, but it records a poignant love tragedy. It is about Lu You and his cousin Tang Wan. Tang Wan's harmony poem is also very famous.
Lu You was born in a prosperous scholarly family in Shanyang, Yuezhou. When he was a child, the Jin people invaded the south, and he often fled with his family. At this time, his maternal uncle Tang Cheng's family had many contacts with the Lu family. Tang Cheng had a daughter named Tang Wan, also known as Huixian. She was quiet and smart since she was a child, not good at words but considerate. They are very similar to Lu You, who is similar in age. The two are childhood sweethearts and have been together for a long time. Even in the chaos of war, the two young people who are not familiar with the world still spend a pure and beautiful time together. As they grew older, a lingering affection gradually grew in their hearts.
Lu You and Tang Wan were both good at poetry in their youth. They often expressed their feelings through poetry. In front of flowers and under the moon, they recited poems and sang to each other. Their beautiful figures were in pairs, just like a pair of colorful flowers dancing in the flowers. Butterfly, her brows are filled with happiness and harmony. The parents of the two families, as well as all the relatives and friends, also believed that they were a match made in heaven, so the Lu family made a marriage agreement with the Tang family using an extremely exquisite family phoenix hairpin as a token. After becoming an adult, Tang Wan became the wife of the Lu family after a night of wedding ceremony. From then on, Lu You and Tang Wan became even more harmonious and deeply in love. They were immersed in the world of the two of them. They didn't know what time it was, and they temporarily put all their imperial examinations, fame and wealth, and even their loved ones out of the sky. At this time, Lu You had already made love to become an official, but this was only the first step in becoming an official. He would then go to Lin'an to participate in the "Lock Hall Examination" and the Ministry of Etiquette Examination. Newly married Lu You lingers in the gentle countryside and has no time to take care of his exam homework. Lu You's mother, Tang, is a dignified and domineering woman. She wholeheartedly hopes that her son Lu You will be named on the gold medal list and become an official, so that he can shine in the family. Seeing the current situation, she was very dissatisfied. She scolded Tang Wan several times as an aunt and even as a mother-in-law, ordering her to focus on her husband's future in the imperial examination and to neglect the love between her children. However, Lu and Tang were deeply in love and couldn't look back, and the situation never improved significantly. Mother Lu was disgusted with her daughter-in-law because of this, believing that Tang Wan was really the star of the Tang family and would delay her son's future. So she went to Wuliang Nunnery in the suburbs and asked the nun Miaoyu to tell her son and daughter-in-law's fate. After some calculations, Miao Yin said in a serious manner: "Tang Wan and Lu You are not compatible. First he misled them, but eventually his life was in danger." Upon hearing this, Lu's mother was so frightened that she hurried home, called Lu You, and forced him to say: : "Quickly write a divorce letter and give up Tang Wan, otherwise I will die with you." This sentence was undoubtedly a thunderstorm on a sunny day, which shocked Lu You and didn't know what he was doing. When Lu You's mother recounted all the things that happened to Tang Wan, Lu You felt as sad as a knife. He, who had always been filial, had no choice but to cry secretly when faced with his resolute mother.
Founded by his mother's fate, Lu You had no choice but to reluctantly separate from Tang Wan. This situation seems to be unreasonable today, and the relationship between two people cannot be allowed to be interfered with by others. However, in ancient Chinese society that advocated filial piety, the mother's destiny was the imperial edict, and the son of man could not obey it. In this way, a pair of deeply affectionate mandarin ducks are about to be torn apart by unwarranted filial piety, secular power and mysterious destiny. Lu You and Tang Wan were inseparable, and they couldn't bear to leave without a chance to get together, so they quietly built a separate courtyard to accommodate Tang Wan. Lu You went there as soon as he had the opportunity to renew his dream with Tang Wan, and their love was as good as ever. Unfortunately, nothing could stop the fire, and the shrewd Mother Lu quickly noticed the incident. He strictly ordered the two of them to cut off contact with each other, and married Lu You to a docile and dutiful daughter of the Wang family, completely severing the long love between Lu and Tang. Tang Wan was also forced by her father's order to marry Zhao Shicheng, a scribe from the same county. The happy marriage of this young couple was broken up in this way. Zhao Shicheng was very kind to Tang Wan. He is a family friend of the Tang family and knows everything about Lu You and Tang Wan. He is also a literary friend of Lu You. He admires Lu You and sympathizes with Tang Wan and wants to try his best to make her happy.
Lu You had no choice but to put away his grievances. Under the supervision of his mother, he focused on studying for the imperial examinations and studied hard for three years. At the age of twenty-seven, he left his hometown alone. Shanyin, went to Lin'an to participate in the "Lock Hall Examination". In Lin'an, Lu You won the appreciation of the examiner Lu Fu with his solid foundation in Confucian classics and brilliant literary thinking, and was recommended as the leader. The person who won the second place in the same subject examination happened to be Qin Xun, the grandson of Qin Hui, the prime minister of the dynasty. Qin Hui felt deeply ashamed, so during the Ministry of Rites examination in the spring of the next year, he made excuses and excluded Lu You's test paper. Lu You's career encountered ups and downs from the very beginning. After failing the examination of the Ministry of Rites, Lu You returned to his hometown. The scenery of his hometown remained the same and the people's appearance had changed. Seeing things and thinking about people, I feel desolate in my heart. In order to relieve his melancholy, Lu You often stayed alone in the green mountains and green waters, or sat in a wild temple to explore the ancient times; In this way, he lived a leisurely and dissolute life.
On a spring noon with blooming flowers, Lu You casually strolled to the Shen Garden of Yuji Temple.
Shen Garden is an elegant garden with sparse flowers and trees, towering rocks and winding paths. It is a good place for locals to visit in spring to enjoy flowers. Lu You wandered alone in the Shen Family Garden in Shanyin City with a melancholy mood. While he was sitting and drinking alone, drowning his sorrows with wine, he suddenly saw Tang Wan and her remarried husband Zhao Shicheng unexpectedly. Both parties were very embarrassed. Although he had been separated from Logan for many years, he had not completely gotten rid of his feelings for Logan in his heart. He thought that Tang Wan was his beloved wife in the past, but now she belonged to someone else, like the willow in the forbidden palace, out of reach. Zhao Shicheng knew that their relationship was not over, so he took the initiative to arrange an opportunity for them to talk alone. Said: "Your cousin is here, you are relatives, why don't you go and get together?" So Tang Wan came over to Lu You with a maid and a jug of wine. Both parties talked about their respective funerals, knowing that their fate in this life was over and there would be no chance of getting back together. Unspeakably sad. Tang Wan personally toasted a glass of wine to Lu You. After Lu You drank it, he didn't know what it felt like. In anger, he wrote the famous song "The Hairpin-headed Phoenix" in Shenyuan. What Lu You expresses in this poem is the sadness, guilt and deep love for Tang Wan after the love was destroyed, as well as his dissatisfaction with his mother's beating of the mandarin duck.
After Lu You wrote the inscription, he looked at Tang Wan affectionately and then left in despair. After Lu You left, Tang Wan stood there alone, reading the poem "The Hairpin-headed Phoenix" from beginning to end several times. She could no longer control her feelings and burst into tears. When she returned home, she felt sad and resentful, so she also composed a poem called "The Hairpin Phoenix".
Tang Wan died of depression and resentment soon after being overly sad. Tang Wan's husband later handed over the poem to Lu You. There is no record of Lu You's mood after seeing it.
After that, Lu You went north to fight against the Jin Dynasty, and then moved to Sichuan and Sichuan to serve. After decades of ups and downs, he still could not relieve the nostalgia in the poet's heart. When he was sixty-seven years old, he revisited Shen Garden and saw the past. Half of the wall with the inscription "The Hairpin-headed Phoenix" was broken. Although the handwriting was blurred after forty years, he still shed tears and wrote a poem to remember the incident. The small preface of the poem said: "There is Shen's Xiaoxiao in the south of Yuji Temple. "Forty years ago, I tried to inscribe a small garden on the wall. I came here again and again, but the owner of the garden has changed its owner three times, which makes me sad to read." In the poem, Tang Wan mourned: "Who can say that the spring road is broken and the dream is broken?" Things are unclear." Later Lu You was seventy-five years old and lived near Shen Yuan. "Every time he entered the city, he would go to the temple and look at it, and he was overwhelmed with emotion." He wrote a quatrain "Nostalgic for Shen Yuan": "The dream has faded away for forty years. The old willows in Shen Yuan did not blow cotton, so they made their own mark on the soil, and the traces of hanging hangings are still there." The second part: "The setting sun on the city draws a corner of mourning, and the pond in Shen Yuan has not returned to the old one; the spring waves are green under the sad bridge, which is suspected to be "Jinghong takes a photo."
Shen Garden is a place of nostalgia for Lu You, and it is also a place where he feels sad. He was thinking about Shen Yuan, but he was afraid of going to Shen Yuan. Spring comes again, with the sultry pink willows and green willows, and the annoying fragrance of birds and flowers. Although the dying Lu You can no longer go to Shen Garden to look for traces of the past, but that encounter with Tang Wan, the beautiful woman's sad eyes, timid attitude, and helpless The way he walked and hesitated to speak made Lu You remember it, so he wrote a poem "Dreamwalking in Shen Garden": "Firstly: The road is near the south of the city and I am afraid of walking, and Shen's home is even more sad; the fragrance wears the guest's sleeves with plum blossoms, The green temple bridge is full of spring water. "Second: "It's spring again on the small street in the south of the city, but there are only plum blossoms and no people; the jade bones have been sinking in the spring for a long time, and the ink marks are still like dust on the wall."
A year before Lu You's death, he was still writing poems in memory: "The flowers in Shen's home are like brocade, half of them were familiar with the old man, and he also believed that beauty will eventually become ashes, and he can't bear to have a dream that is too hasty!" This is a kind of deep and sincere sadness! The suffocating love made me cry, and while I was weeping, I actually felt a little jealous of Tang Wan. After all, it was such a blessing to be able to be sincerely mourned sixty years after my death! !
No one in the story is a bad guy. But the ending turned out to be tragic. Everyone acts motivated by love, not hatred. Even Mother Lu is no exception. However, there are some loves in the world that are not compatible with each other. Such tragedies directed without malicious intent occur in large numbers in any era, in any place, and in any culture. Moreover, it will continue to happen in large numbers. Shen Garden, with its existence, tells people this fact coldly. Therefore, love is not a simple thing. Moreover, love sometimes does not mean kindness.
Appreciation:
The tone of the lyrics of "Chai Tou Feng" is based on "Xie Fang Ci" written by an unknown person in the Five Dynasties. Because there is a sentence in "Xie Fang Ci" that "Everything is like a dream, how could it ever be a dream? The pitiful solitary person is like a hairpin-headed phoenix", so it was named "The Hairpin-headed Phoenix". Lu You's use of the nickname "hairpin-headed phoenix" has two meanings: one is that after his divorce from the Tang family, he was "poor and lonely like a hairpin-headed phoenix"; the other is that the past events before the divorce were "all like a dream." Passed away just as quickly, unable to grow old together. Because this word is the original meaning of the chant, the meaning of the word must first be explained.
The general theory is: Lu You first married the daughter of his uncle Tang Hong, and the couple fell in love with each other after the marriage. However, Lu You's mother did not like her niece, so Lu You had to divorce Tang due to her mother's fate. After the divorce, Tang remarried Zhao Shicheng, the eldest son of the same county. During a spring outing, Lu You met Tang and his later husband, Shi Cheng, in Shen Garden near Yuji Temple in the south of Shaoxing City. Tang got the consent of her husband and sent people to bring him wine and food to express his gratitude. Lu You was touched by the past and wrote this poem on the wall of Shen Yuan. The above plot comes from Song Zhoumi's "Qi Dong Ye Yu", but there are some inaccuracies in it. Gai Tang Hong was the son of Honglu Shaoqing Tang Yi.
Lu You had six uncles, but there was no Tang Hong among them (for details, please see Appendix 2 of my book "An Explanation of the Semantics of Selected Poems of the Song Dynasty" "Questions on Some Questions about Lu You's "Chaitou Feng""" quoted from Song Wanggui's "Huayang Collection" Volume 37 "Tang Zhisu Gongjie's Epitaph"). Lu You and his ex-wife Tang are naturally not cousins. However, according to the records of various scholars in the Song Dynasty, it is believed that Lu You and his ex-wife Tang met in Shenyuan during a spring outing and wrote this poem after the meeting.
This poem is divided into two parts. The upper part is in a man's tone. Naturally, Lu You is recalling the differences between the past and the past; the joy of the past is like a strong east wind that sweeps away the flowers on the branches. For several years after the separation, I felt desolate and full of melancholy. But now that this hatred has been cast, the fact is irreversible. The tone of the poem was changed to a woman's tone, which is of course a description of Tang's tearful confession of lovesickness after farewell: the scenery in front of her remains the same, but the personnel and affairs have changed. Because I miss you, I am so thin and haggard that I shed tears all day long. Let the flowers bloom and fall, and I have no intention of returning to the victory of Chi Pavilion. The vows made at that time were all in vain. Although I wanted to write a letter of understanding, I had no choice but to hesitate due to the situation of remarrying. The tone of the words is so realistic and the emotions are so sincere and euphemistic that they are nothing like imagination. If there is no life prototype as a basis, it will not be so real and touching based on fiction alone. What has been discussed above is the overall impression of this poem. In order to confirm this impression, further analysis can be done starting from the language image.
