Topic: Visiting Maoming Open-pit Mine Ecological Park

Recently, my mother took me to visit Maoming Open-pit Mine Ecological Park during the holiday.

The weather was fine and sunny that day, which is very suitable for viewing here.

The blue lake is really beautiful in this ecological park transformed from an over-developed mine.

Under the sunlight, the blue color of the lake changes from shallow to deep, the water quality is very clear, the wind blows water waves, the water temperature is very cool, and it is surrounded by distinct layers of minerals, like a big bowl filled with blue tears left by the earth that has been damaged by excavation.

Open-pit mine bears the memory of the city, is a typical industrial and mining relic, with multiple attributes of ecology, landscape, culture, production, economy and so on, and is of great scientific value.

relying on the abandoned factory building of the former mining company, Maoming City has been transformed into an open-pit mine ecological museum with functions of exhibition, popular science and collection. It is also the first museum of mineral sites in Guangdong, aiming at inheriting the pioneering spirit of the older generation of builders, and its design style is heavy, simple and modern.

The construction of museums not only relies on abandoned factories, but also uses local materials to maintain historical features, makes full use of every resource and reduces capital investment.

The museum project covers an area of 6 mu. The project started construction in December 215, and the main project is expected to be completed in July this year.

The completed museum will try its best to display the daily necessities used in that year.

Since Maoming Open-pit Mine has stopped production for more than 2 years, the production machinery has almost been cleaned up, and few of the daily necessities of some builders can be preserved.

Nevertheless, many historical objects have been collected, including some large-scale machinery used in the construction period. Many citizens not only provided the museum with physical clues related to the construction of open-pit mines, but also donated cultural relics and exhibits, including two turtle fossils unearthed during geological exploration in open-pit mines in 1956.

upon completion, the museum will become a platform for inheriting Maoming's mining culture and the spirit of oil city.
