The Houjie Octagonal Pavilion, also known as the Xiangxian Pavilion, is located on the left side of the Shangshu Ancestral Temple in Houjie Town, Dongguan City, Guangdong Province. It was first built in Hongzhi of the Ming Dynasty. Eight years later (1495), it was rebuilt in 1935. This pavilion has eight pillars and eight corners, built on three levels of steps. The pavilion is relatively spacious, surrounded by six rows of corridors and chairs (in fact, it should be eight) (the north and south are the entrance and exit passages); there are two floors of roof eaves, one for the upper and one for the lower. There are windows in the room to facilitate lighting in the pavilion. No matter at first glance or carefully, the momentum is indeed extraordinary.
