The Natural Environment of Yeniugou Township

The territory is rich in natural resources, and there are many kinds and quantities of wildlife resources. Wild yaks, snow leopards, Ma Xiong, white-lipped deer and other rare birds and animals thrive here. More than 80 kinds of Chinese herbal medicines such as mushrooms, Saussurea involucrata and Cordyceps sinensis are widely distributed. There are more than 40 kinds of proven mineral resources, such as iron, manganese, copper, gold, asbestos, coal and precious stones. Most mineral deposits (occurrences) have high mining value, and large enterprises such as Qinghai Xinchuan Mining Company and Hongfu Yu Ye Company have invested here. The development potential of tourism resources is huge. Heihe River, the second largest inland river in China, originated here, and Bayi Glacier, the youngest glacier in the world, stands at the source of Heihe River. The provincial nature reserve, water hyacinth, is located in the town east.
